12:25 Barnaba si Saul, dupa ce si-au implinit insarcinarea, s-au intors din Ierusalim, luand cu ei pe Ioan, zis si Marcu.

Barnaba si Saul … s-au intors. Adica de la vizita lor la Ierusalim (cap. 11, 27-30) la lucrarile lor printre convertitii dintre neamuri din Antiohia (vezi mai jos la ,,din Ierusalim”; vezi si Note Aditionale la sfarsitul capitolului, Nota 2).

Si-au implinit insarcinarea. (,,Si-au implinit lucrarea”, KJV). Sau ,,insarcinarea”, ,,diaconatul”, ,,slujba”. Cuvantul grec este acelasi cu acela tradus ,,ajutor” in cap. 11,29. Barnaba si Saul si-au indeplinit misiunea cu care fusesera trimisi de biserica din Antiohia.

Din Ierusalim. Dovezi textuale favorizeaza (cf. p. 10) expresia ,,la Ierusalim” ca si cum Barnaba si Saul se reintorceau din Ierusalim din ,,lucrarea lor” in campul Antiohiei. Totusi, cei mai multi redactori ai textului grecesc, evident pornind de la context si considerand cap. 12, 25 ca o concluzie la cap. 11, 27-30, nu pot sa considere drept originara exprimarea mai putin bine argumentata ,,de la Ierusalim”, ca in KJV. O sugestie a fost facuta prin care exprimarea mai bine dovedita poate fi inteleasa in acelasi sens, invocand ordinea lui ,,la Ierusalim” si ,,dupa ce si-au implinit insarcinarea”. Textul grecesc lipsit de punctuatie permite traducerea aceasta, care ar suna literal, ,,Barnaba si Saul, s-au reintors, dupa ce si-au indeplinit insarcinarea la Ierusalim.

Luand cu ei pe Ioan. Vezi v. 12. Alegerea este partial explicata de rudenia lui Ioan cu Barnaba (Coloseni 4,10), dar arata si ca Ioan se angaja cu toata inima in lucrarea convertirii neamurilor. Vezi Fapte 13,2.13; 15, 37-40; 2 Timotei 4,11. Pe cat se pare, el traise acasa in Ierusalim pana la data aceasta. NOTE ADITIONALE LA CAPITOLUL 12

NOTA 1

Comparand naratiunea lui Luca cu aceea a lui Iosif, pare probabil ca delegatii din Tir si Sidon erau printre cei care au strigat: ,,Glas de Dumnezeu, si nu de om”, si au adaugat, asa cum relateaza Iosif: ,,Fii milostiv noua”. Notati contrastul remarcabil dintre refuzul lui Petru de a primi omagiul din partea lui Corneliu si acceptarea din partea lui Agripa a lingusirii hulitoare din partea multimii din Cezareea. Relatarea lui Iosif, concorda cu acea a lui Luca in urmatoarele amanunte: 1) Printre multimea care lingusea pe Agripa erau unii care cautau sa-i recastige favoarea. 2) Ziua era o zi ,,anumita”. 3) Irod era imbracat in haine regale. 4) Lingusirea consta din a numi pe rege dumnezeu. 5) El nu i-a mustrat. 6) El a fost lovit de indata asa ca a trebuit sa fie purtat pana la palatul sau. Iosif adauga ca Agripa a recunoscut ca lovitura a venit de la Dumnezeu ca o mustrare pentru faptul ca acceptase o asemenea lingusire hulitoare si ca oricine se astepta ca el sa moara imediat.

Cu referire la ultima parte a relatarii lui Iosif, care spune ca durerile violente au sporit foarte repede si relatarea NT, care spune ca Agripa a fost mancat de viermi, e de notat ca in raportul mortii lui Antioh Epifanul aceste doua trasaturi sunt mentionate ca fiind caracteristice pentru aceeasi boala si sunt descrise separat: ,,Atoatevazatorul Domnul, Dumnezeul lui Israel, l-a lovit cu o lovitura fatala si nevazuta; de abia iesisera cuvintele din gura lui ca el a fost apucat de dureri incurabile in intestine si organele lui launtrice i-au dat chinuri cumplite… Viermi reali ieseau colcaind din trupul fiintei nelegiuite (2 Macabei 9, 5.9; in R. H. Charles, Apocripha and Pseodoepigrapha of the Old Testament, vol. 1 pa. 144). Iosif, care privea la Agripa cu o remarcabila aprobare, a descris doar in treacat forma in care boala regelui s-a facut aparenta la inceput si a omis amanuntele respingatoare din descrierea mortii cuiva care in ochii sai era un mare rege. Scriptura a dat o relatare deplina, din cauza ca obiectivul scriitorului Faptelor era de a scoate in evidenta in toata seriozitatea lui pacatul pentru care, asa cum spune Iosif, Agripa stia ca a fost lovit. Punctele de concordanta intre cele doua relatari sunt asa de multe si deosebirile asa de mici si asa de usor explicate, incat relatarea lui Iosif trebuie sa fie privita ca un tribut la acuratetea si atentia istorica a lui Luca.

NOTA 2

La sfarsitul capitolului al 12-lea se ridica intrebarea daca vizita in legatura cu foametea lui Barnaba si a lui Saul (cap. 11, 27-30) a avut loc inainte sau dupa intemnitarea lui Petru si moartea lui Irod Agripa I, intrucat ultimul verset din cap. 12 este evident concluzia naratiunii inceputa in cap. 11, 27-30. Problema este scoasa la iveala de faptul ca dovezile cronologice sugereaza ca moartea lui Irod a avut loc inainte de vizita cu ocazia foametei si in ordine inversa de cea in care Luca trateaza evenimentele acestea.

Luand in considerare problema aceasta, este de recunoscut ca Luca nu incearca totdeauna sa fie strict cronologic in relatarile sale atat in Evanghelia sa, cat si in Faptele. Luca in Evanghelia sa (cap. 1,1-8) aminteste ca ,,multi” ,,s-au apucat sa alcatuiasca o istorisire despre lucrurile care s-au petrecut printre noi”. Din relatarile lor, el a ales ce a gasit ,,cu cale” (,,ceea ce i s-a parut bun”), de la ,,cei ce le-au vazut cu ochii lor de la inceput” si anume evenimentele acelea care ofereau un tablou coerent al anumitor faze ale istoriei crestine timpurii. Dupa ce urmarise lucrarile unui personaj (ca de pilda Petru, mai ales, in Fapte 1-12) sau daduse un tablou coerent al unei arii de dezvoltare (ca de pilda Evanghelia in Palestina, la cap. 11,18), apoi Luca se ocupa de o alta faza sau de un alt personaj si se tinea de acela pana la un alt punct culminant sau la o concluzie (cf. tranzitia, cap. 11,18.19). Ordinea cronologica uneori e mai putin importanta pentru Luca decat alte prioritati, ca de pilda un anumit subiect sau arie geografica. Atitudinea aceasta e caracteristica pentru literatura acestui timp, cum e si pentru VT (vezi Geneza 25,19; 27,1; 35,29; Exod 16, 33.35; 18, 25).

Expresiile ,,in vremea aceea”, (cap. 11, 27) si ,,pe aceeasi vreme” (cap. 12,1) sunt folosite adesea in Evanghelii, doar ca expresii de tranzitie stereotipe, nu in mod necesar intentionate sa arate un anumit timp in mod cronologic. E cu totul posibil ca evenimentele din cap. 12, 1-24 sa fi avut loc intre versetul 26 si 27 ale cap. 11, cap 12, 25 in mod logic urmeaza dupa cap. 11, 30. ,,Insarcinarea” (cap. 12, 25) aparent se refera la ducerea unui ,,ajutor fratilor care locuiau in Iudeea” (cap. 11,29). In felul acesta, vizita in timpul foametei ar veni dupa intemnitarea lui Petru, eliberarea lui miraculoasa si plecarea din cetatea Ierusalim si dupa moartea lui Irod Agripa I, care a avut loc in anul 44 d. Hr.

Urmand metoda lui istorica asa cum e descrisa mai sus, Luca a relatat povestirea inceputului lucrarii pentru neamuri in Antiohia. La sfarsitul acelei naratiuni, eroii ei, Barnaba si Saul, sunt trimisi la Ierusalim pentru a duce ajutorul bisericii in nevoie. In vederea acestei schimbari de scena, Luca mai intai se inapoiaza (cap. 12,1) pentru a aduce pe cititorii sai la curent cu privire la ceea ce se petrecuse in Ierusalim in cursul perioadei reprezentate de naratiunea lui cu privire la Antiohia. El povesteste istoria persecutiei bisericii de catre Irod, cuprinzand uciderea lui Irod si intemnitarea lui Petru si groaznicul sfarsit la care a ajuns persecutorul. El este gata atunci sa reia naratiunea de la Antiohia, cu trimiterea lui Barnaba si a lui Saul ca misionari hirotoniti (cap. 13, 1-3). Dar mai intai el readuce personajele sale principale in locul acela mentionand ca (cap. 12, 25), ,,dupa ce si-au implinit insarcinarea, s-au intors din Ierusalim”. El foloseste ocazia aceasta pentru a introduce un nou personaj, Ioan Marcu (deja pomenit intamplator la Ierusalim, v. 12), deoarece Marcu urmeaza sa insoteasca pe cei doi barbati mai in varsta cand pleaca in calatoria pe care Luca incepe acum sa

o descrie (cap. 13,4 la 14, 27), primul turneu al lui Pavel.

O astfel de deplasare minora a relatarii vizitei din timpul foametei e cu totul rationala, avand in vedere metoda obisnuita a lui Luca de a-si organiza materialul, si nu cuprinde nici o rearanjare majora sau fuzionare a doua evenimente sau relatari de evenimente, asa cum fac unele vederi (vezi Nota Aditionala la capitolul 15, Nota 1).

Special note for ANDROID SmartPhones
I recommend to download PhoneMe emulator for Android from here. Especially I recommend phoneME Advanced - Foundation Profile + MIDP High Resolution b168 rev20547 from here, or from here.

Then you have to build your application, to transfer the .jar and .jad files on your mobile phone and run using this nice emulator.

1. Install a Zip Utility from Android Market.

2. Install a File Manager from Android Market.

3. Download and install PhoneMe, as mentioned above.

4. Build your application by using Download Multilingual Service or Dynamic Download (zip).

5. Copy the zip file into your Android Phone and unzip the content in a folder, and then write down the path to the unzipped files and the name of the .jad file.

6. Launch PhoneMe from your smartphone.

7. Inside PhoneMe, write to the main window the path and the name to the .jad file, above mentioned. Will look something like: file:///mnt/sd/download/BiblePhone.jad and then press enter.

8. The application will be installed, and next a hyperlink will be available below the above mentioned textbox. On this way you can install as many of MIDP application you like on your Android Phone.


How to install the application in Java Mobile enabled phones

It is possible now to have the Holy Scriptures on your mobile phone and to read it wherever you are due to the Mobile Information Device Profile (MIDP) technology in 1.0 and 2.0 versions, developed for Java applications.

A good advice is to try in the beginning the MIDP 1.0 / 128 Kbytes version, and progressively to advance to MIDP 2.0 and larger volumes (512 Kbytes or more).

The application is available for MIDP 2.0, MIDP 1.0. You have only to select one table on the field MIDP2.0 or MIDP1.0, according to the desired Bible version. Then, you shall make a click on the JAR (Java Archive) file in order to obtain the software to be installed on your mobile phone.

I recommend you to start with STARTER(MIDP1.0old) edition, then to continue with INTERMEDIATE(MIDP1.0), and in the end, if the mobile phone supports this thing, to try to install the ADVANCED (MIDP2.0) edition. Also, start with 128 kbytes volumes, continue with 512 kbytes, and at the end try the version in one file.

There are cases where the mobile phone requires so called JAD (Java Descriptor) files. These JAD files has to be uploaded, on this case, together with the desired JAR files(s).

There are different methods to download the applications in your mobile phone as follows:
1. Directly from Internet by using a WAP or GPRS connection
2. By using the infrared port of the mobile phone
3. By wireless Bluetooth access to the mobile phone
4. By cable link between PC ad mobile phone
5. If none from the above cases are valid

Next, we shall examine each case in order to have a successfully installation of the software.


1. Directly from Internet by using a WAP or GPRS connection
 

If your have Internet access on your mobile phone (e.g. WAP or GPRS), it is enough to access https://biblephone.intercer.net/wap/  from the browser of the mobile phone, and to access the desired Bible version, and then to make an option about MIDP1.0 or MIDP2.0, and finally to select the desired module (e.g. one or more). After the last selection, the desired version will be downloaded on your mobile phone.

Many phones have only this option for installing JAVA appplications.

2. By using the infrared port of the mobile phone

Sometimes there is a need for a special uploader software for specific mobile phones.

If you don't have access to Internet directly from your mobile phone, then you shall have to pass to this step requiring to have infrared ports on your mobile phone and on the computer.
a. On this case, you will download the application by using the computer from the Internet (i.e. JAR files).
b. Once the application is downloaded (preferable on the desktop) you will have to activate the infrared port on the mobile phone and align it with the infrared port of the computer (preferable laptop).

c. Then a window will appear asking what file you want to send to the mobile phone. Next, you will select the downloaded JAR file, and after OK, the mobile phone will ask you if you want to load that file. You say YES and the application will be downloaded on your mobile phone.
d. Probably, you will be asked by the mobile phone where you want to save it (e.g. on the games or applications directories). After you made this selection, the file will be ready to be loaded for run.
The displaying preference can be set inside the application in order to have larger fonts, full screen display etc.

3. By wireless Bluetooth access to the mobile phone

Sometimes there is a need for a special uploader software for specific mobile phones.
This situation is similar with the infrared case. You have only to activate Bluetooth access on your mobile phone (check if exists) and on the computer (check if exists).

4. By cable link between PC ad mobile phone
Sometimes there is a need for a special uploader software for specific mobile phones.
On this case the steps are as follows:

a. On this case, you will download the application by using the computer from the Internet (i.e. JAR files).
b. Once the application is downloaded (preferable on the desktop) you will have to set up the wired connection between the mobile phone and the computer. Next, you will start the synchronization / data transfer application and download the JAR file in your mobile phone. Surely, you will have to consult the CD of your mobile phone.
c. By this application you shall transfer into your mobile phone the JAR file in the games or applications directories. Next, you will have to select for run the JAR desired file.

5. If none from the above cases are valid
On this unhappy case, I recommend you to find a friend with a laptop having infrared / Bluetooth capabilities, or to buy a data link cable, or to change your current model of mobile phone.
Unfortunately, some models of mobile phones require only WAP/GPRS in order to download and run Java applications.


Sometimes there is a need for a special uploader software for specific mobile phones. Therefore check the documentation of them and also the page for specific models.

Why so many versions? Simple, because not all the mobile phones support the Bible in one file with MIDP 2.0 (the most advanced for the time being).
