1:17 Va merge înaintea lui Dumnezeu, în duhul şi puterea lui Ilie, ca să întoarcă inimile părinţilor la copii, şi pe cei neascultători la umblarea în înţelepciunea celor neprihăniţi, ca să gătească Domnului un norod bine pregătit pentru El. Va merge înaintea lui. Aşa cum este în mod specific profetizat de Isaia (vezi la Isaia 40,3-5) şi Maleahi (vezi la Maleahi 3,1). Aceasta este sarcina atribuită bisericii rămăşiţei de astăzi. În v. 16,17 există un giuvaer de adevăr inspirat care se găseşte pe jumătate ascuns. În v. 16 Luca afirmă că Ioan va întoarce pe mulţi copii ai lui Israel la ,,Domnul” şi apoi urmează imediat cu comentariul: ,,El [Ioan Botezătorul] va merge înaintea lui [evident Mesia, dar şi ,,Domnul Dumnezeul lor” din v. 16]. În mod lămurit, deşi poate criptic, Luca atrage aici atenţia la divinitatea lui Mesia. Duhul şi puterea lui Ilie. Curajul neînfricat al lui Ilie în zile de apostazie şi criză (vezi 1 Regi 17,1; 18,1-19.36-40) făcuse din profet un simbol al reformaţiunii temeinice şi loialităţii depline faţă de Dumnezeu. Acum era nevoie de o lucrare asemănătoare pentru a întoarce inimile oamenilor la credinţa părinţilor lor (vezi Ioan 8,56; 1 Petru 1,10.11). Lucrarea lui Ioan Botezătorul ca înainte mergător al lui Mesia fusese făcută un subiect de relatare profetică (vezi Isaia 40,1-11; Maleahi 3,1; 4,5.6), aşa cum ştiau aceia care studiau Scripturile. Chiar şi cărturarii recunoşteau că ,,trebuie să vină Ilie” înainte de venirea lui Mesia (Matei 17,10; Marcu 9,11.12). Solia lui era o solie de reformă şi pocăinţă (vezi Matei 3,1-10). Ioan îi semăna lui Ilie, nu numai în lucrarea pe care urma să o facă şi în neînfricarea cu care avea să proclame adevărul (vezi 1 Regi 21,17-24; Matei 3,7-10), dar chiar şi în felul său de vieţuire şi în înfăţişarea lui exterioară generală (vezi Matei 3,4; vezi la 2 Regi 1,8). Amândoi profeţii au suferit persecuţie ( vezi 1 Regi 18,10; 19,2; Matei 14,10). Profeţiile cu privire la înainte mergătorul lui Mesia au fost împlinite atât de impresionant în Ioan Botezătorul încât atât poporul de rând, cât şi conducătorii lor au recunoscut asemănarea lui Ioan cu Ilie (vezi Ioan 1,19-21). Chiar şi după moartea lui Ioan preoţii, cărturarii şi bătrânii nu îndrăzneau să tăgăduiască faptul că Ioan era profet (Matei 21,24-27; Marcu 11,29-33; Luca 20,3-7). Şi nici Irod cel fără inimă n-a îndrăznit să-i ia viaţa lui Ioan până când împrejurările aparent l-au constrâns să facă aşa ceva (Matei 14,3-11; Marcu 6,17-28; DA 222). Ioan a tăgăduit că el era Ilie în persoană (Ioan 1,21), dar Isus a afirmat că Ioan a venit ca împlinire a profeţiilor despre venirea lui Ilie (Matei 11,9-14; 17,10-13). Lucrul acesta a fost pe deplin înţeles de ucenici (Matei 17,13). Exact lucrarea săvârşită de Ilie şi de Ioan Botezătorul este necesară astăzi. În zilele acestea de stricăciune morală şi de orbire spirituală este nevoie de glasuri care să proclame fără teamă oamenilor de pe pământ venirea Domnului. Chemarea timpului de faţă este pentru bărbaţi şi femei care-şi vor rândui viaţa aşa cum au făcut Ioan şi Ilie de pe vremuri şi care vor invita pe alţii să facă la fel. Este necesară o lucrare de reformă zeloasă, nu numai în afară de biserică, dar şi înăuntrul ei. Dumnezeu invită pe toţi aceia care vor să-L iubească şi să-I servească să meargă în ,,duhul şi puterea lui Ilie” (3 T 61,62). Inimile părinţilor. Contextul de aici şi din Maleahi 4,5.6. sugerează că este folosită o vorbire figurată. Solia lui Gabriel a fost dată în forma literară a poeziei ebraice în care ritmul ideilor este folosit în loc de metru (vezi vol. III, p. 17-28). Copiii lui Israel trebuiau să fie întorşi la ,,Domnul Dumnezeul lor”, Părintele lor ceresc (Luca 1,16), cei ,,neascultători” la ,,înţelepciunea celor neprihăniţi [,,drepţi]” (v. 17). Lucrarea lui Ioan era de a întoarce inimile copiilor neascultători ai lui Israel din generaţia lui la înţelepciunea dreptului lor Părinte din cer prin întoarcerea atenţiei la experienţele ,,părinţilor” lor (vezi 1 Corinteni 10,11). Aceasta era exact lucrarea pe care o săvârşise Ilie (vezi 1 Regi 18,36.37). Ca descendenţi spirituali ai părintelui nostru Avraam (Galateni 3,29) noi ar trebui, ca şi el, să ne întoarcem în credinţă inimile la Dumnezeu (Evrei 11,8-13.39.40) şi să ne aducem pururi aminte de calea pe care El a condus pe ,,părinţi” în veacurile trecute (vezi LS 196). Declaraţia lui Maleahi, citată aici de Luca, a fost de asemenea explicată literal, ca aplicânduse la răspunderea părintească de a creşte pe copii ,,în mustrarea şi învăţătura Domnului” (Efeseni 6,4). Unul din primele rezultate ale adevăratei convertiri este întărirea legăturilor familiei. Adevărata reformă totdeauna face aşa ceva. Căminul este cu siguranţă cuprins în lucrarea de reformă descrisă aici ca fiind un aspect important de făcut ,,ca să gătească Domnului un norod bine pregătit pentru El.” Vezi la v. 15. Înţelepciunea. Gr. phronesis, ,,o hotărâre [de a face aşa şi aşa]”, ,,înţelegere”, ,,intenţie”. ,,Înţelepciunea” de care vorbeşte îngerul este de natură să conducă pe om să se întoarcă de la neascultare la ascultare, de la nedreptate la dreptate. Transformarea aceasta are loc nu atât de mult ca rezultat al cunoştinţelor intelectuale, ci printr-o schimbare a concepţiilor (vezi Romani 12,2) care însoţeşte o schimbare a inimii (vezi Ezechiel 11,19; 18,31; 36,26). Numai când un om Îl iubeşte pe Dumnezeu el vrea să asculte de Dumnezeu (Ioan 14,15; 15,10). Numai când afecţiunile sunt fixate la ,,cele de sus” (Coloseni 3,2) adevărata ,,înţelepciune” stăpâneşte inima şi viaţa. Un norod bine pregătit. Oamenii din zilele lui Noe n-au fost pregătiţi pentru potop (cap. 17,27) şi nici oamenii din Sodoma pentru prăpădul care a venit peste cetatea aceea. Copiii lui Israel care au părăsit Egiptul nu erau pregătiţi să intre în ţara făgăduită (Evrei 3,19). Oamenii din zilele lui Hristos nu erau pregătiţi să-L întâmpine şi de aceea ,,nu L-au primit” (vezi Ioan 1,11). Totuşi, în mare măsură datorită lucrării lui Ioan Botezătorul, unii erau gata să-L primească. La fel, noi suntem sfătuiţi să fim ,,gata” (Matei 24,44), deoarece aceia care sunt ,,gata” vor merge cu Hristos la nuntă (Matei 25,10). Tocmai creştinul care păstrează nădejdea revenirii Domnului arzând cu putere în inima sa va fi ,,bine pregătit pentru” Domnul când vine (vezi Evrei 9,28; 2 Petru 3,11.12; 1 Ioan 3,3). |

Special note for ANDROID SmartPhones
I recommend to download PhoneMe emulator for Android from here.
Especially I recommend phoneME Advanced - Foundation Profile + MIDP High Resolution b168 rev20547 from here, or from here.
Then you have to build your application, to transfer the .jar and .jad files on your mobile phone and run using this nice emulator.
1. Install a Zip Utility from Android Market.
2. Install a File Manager from Android Market.
3. Download and install PhoneMe, as mentioned above.
4. Build your application by using Download Multilingual Service or Dynamic Download (zip).
5. Copy the zip file into your Android Phone and unzip the content in a folder, and then write down the path to the unzipped files and the name of the .jad file.
6. Launch PhoneMe from your smartphone.
7. Inside PhoneMe, write to the main window the path and the name to the .jad file, above mentioned. Will look something like: file:///mnt/sd/download/BiblePhone.jad and then press enter.
8. The application will be installed, and next a hyperlink will be available below the above mentioned textbox. On this way you can install as many of MIDP application you like on your Android Phone.
How to install the application in Java Mobile enabled phones
It is possible now to have the Holy Scriptures on your mobile phone and to read
it wherever you are due to the Mobile Information Device Profile (MIDP)
technology in 1.0 and 2.0 versions, developed for Java applications.
A good advice is to try in the beginning the MIDP 1.0 / 128 Kbytes version, and
progressively to advance to MIDP 2.0 and larger volumes (512 Kbytes or more).
The application is available for MIDP 2.0, MIDP 1.0. You have only to select one
table on the field MIDP2.0 or MIDP1.0, according to the desired Bible version.
Then, you shall make a click on the JAR (Java Archive) file in order to obtain
the software to be installed on your mobile phone.
I recommend you to start with STARTER(MIDP1.0old) edition, then to continue with
INTERMEDIATE(MIDP1.0), and in the end, if the mobile phone supports this thing,
to try to install the ADVANCED (MIDP2.0) edition. Also, start with 128 kbytes
volumes, continue with 512 kbytes, and at the end try the version in one file.
There are cases where the mobile phone requires so called JAD (Java Descriptor)
files. These JAD files has to be
uploaded, on this case, together with the desired JAR files(s).
There are different methods to download the applications in your mobile phone as
follows:
1. Directly from Internet by using a WAP or GPRS connection
2. By using the infrared port of the mobile phone
3. By wireless Bluetooth access to the mobile phone
4. By cable link between PC ad mobile phone
5. If none from the above cases are valid
Next, we shall examine each case in order to have a successfully installation of
the software.
1. Directly from Internet by using a WAP or GPRS connection
If your have Internet access on your mobile phone (e.g. WAP or GPRS), it is
enough to access
https://biblephone.intercer.net/wap/ from the browser of the mobile phone,
and to access the desired Bible version, and then to make an option about
MIDP1.0 or MIDP2.0, and finally to select the desired module (e.g. one or more).
After the last selection, the desired version will be downloaded on your mobile
phone.
Many phones have only this option for installing JAVA appplications.
2. By using the infrared port of the mobile phone
Sometimes there is a need for a special uploader software for specific mobile
phones.
If you don't have access to Internet directly from your mobile phone, then you
shall have to pass to this step requiring to have infrared ports on your mobile
phone and on the computer.
a. On this case, you will download the application by using the computer from
the Internet (i.e. JAR files).
b. Once the application is downloaded (preferable on the desktop) you will have
to activate the infrared port on the mobile phone and align it with the infrared
port of the computer (preferable laptop).
c. Then a window will appear asking what file you want to send to the mobile
phone. Next, you will select the downloaded JAR file, and after OK, the mobile
phone will ask you if you want to load that file. You say YES and the
application will be downloaded on your mobile phone.
d. Probably, you will be asked by the mobile phone where you want to save it (e.g.
on the games or applications directories). After you made this selection, the
file will be ready to be loaded for run.
The displaying preference can be set inside the application in order to have
larger fonts, full screen display etc.
3. By wireless Bluetooth access to the mobile phone
Sometimes there is a need for a special uploader software for specific mobile
phones.
This situation is similar with the infrared case. You have only to activate
Bluetooth access on your mobile phone (check if exists) and on the computer (check
if exists).
4. By cable link between PC ad mobile phone
Sometimes there is a need for a special uploader software for specific
mobile phones.
On this case the steps are as follows:
a. On this case, you will download the application by using the computer from
the Internet (i.e. JAR files).
b. Once the application is downloaded (preferable on the desktop) you will have
to set up the wired connection between the mobile phone and the computer. Next,
you will start the synchronization / data transfer application and download the
JAR file in your mobile phone. Surely, you will have to consult the CD of your
mobile phone.
c. By this application you shall transfer into your mobile phone the JAR file in
the games or applications directories. Next, you will have to select for run the
JAR desired file.
5. If none from the above cases are valid
On this unhappy case, I recommend you to find a friend with a laptop having
infrared / Bluetooth capabilities, or to buy a data link cable, or to change
your current model of mobile phone.
Unfortunately, some models of mobile phones require only WAP/GPRS in order to
download and run Java applications.
Sometimes there is a need for a special uploader software for specific mobile
phones. Therefore check the documentation of them and also the page for specific
models.
Why so many versions? Simple, because not all the mobile phones support the
Bible in one file with MIDP 2.0 (the most advanced for the time being).
