48:1 Cap. 46 - Primii reformatori 48:2 In mijlocul intunecimii ce s-a lasat asupra pamantului in timpul suprematiei papale, lumina adevarului n-a putut fi stinsa in intregime. In fiecare secol au existat martori pentru Dumnezeu - barbati care au nutrit credinta in Domnul Hristos ca singurul mijlocitor intre Dumnezeu si om, care au privit Biblia ca singura regula de viata si care au sfintit adevaratul Sabat. Posteritatea nu va sti niciodata cat le datoreaza lumea acestor barbati. Au fost categorisiti ca eretici, motivele le-au fost puse la indoiala, caracterele calomniate, scrierile interzise, interpretate gresit sau mutilate. Totusi, ei au stat hotarati si si-au mentinut credinta curata, secol dupa secol, ca o mostenire sacra pentru generatiile urmatoare. 48:3 Razboiul dus impotriva Bibliei a fost atat de crunt, incat uneori n-au mai ramas decat foarte putine copii ale sale; dar Dumnezeu nu a ingaduit sa fie cu totul distrus Cuvantul Lui. Adevarurile lui nu aveau sa fie ascunse pentru totdeauna. Dumnezeu putea sa descatuseze cuvintele vietii tot atat de usor cum putea sa deschida usile inchisorii si sa descuie portile de fier ca sa-Si elibereze slujitorii. In diferite tari ale Europei, oamenii au fost miscati de Duhul lui Dumnezeu sa caute adevarul ca pe o comoara ascunsa. Indrumati in mod providential catre Sfintele Scripturi, ei studiau paginile sfinte cu un profund interes. Doreau sa primeasca lumina cu orice pret. Desi nu vedeau clar toate lucrurile, au fost facuti in stare 48:4 sa inteleaga multe adevaruri care fusesera ingropate timp indelungat. Ca soli trimisi de cer, ei au mers inainte, rupand lanturile ratacirii si superstitiei si chemandu-i pe cei care fusesera inrobiti asa de multa vreme sa se ridice si sa-si apere libertatea. 48:5 A venit timpul ca Scripturile sa fie traduse si date oamenilor din diferite tari, in limba lor natala. Lumea trecuse de miezul noptii ei. Orele de intuneric erau pe sfarsite si in multe tari au aparut dovezile apropierii zorilor. 48:6 Luceafarul de dimineata al Reformatiunii 48:7 In secolul al paisprezecelea, in Anglia a rasarit "luceafarul de dimineata al Reformatiunii." John Wycliffe a fost vestitorul reformei, nu numai pentru Anglia, ci si pentru intreaga crestinatate. El a fost inaintasul puritanilor; epoca lui a fost o oaza in pustiu. 48:8 Domnul a gasit cu cale sa incredinteze lucrarea de reforma unuia a carui capacitate intelectuala avea sa confere caracter si demnitate eforturilor sale. Aceasta a adus la tacere glasul dispretului si i-a impiedicat pe dusmanii adevarului sa-i discrediteze lucrarea, ridiculizandu-i ignoranta. Dupa ce a dobandit invatatura scolilor, Wycliffe a inceput studiul Scripturilor. Aici a gasit ceea ce cautase zadarnic mai inainte. Aici a vazut Planul de Mantuire descoperit si pe Domnul Hristos ca singurul Avocat al omului. A vazut ca Roma parasise caile Bibliei pentru traditiile omenesti. El s-a predat in serviciul lui Hristos si s-a hotarat sa proclame adevarurile pe care le descoperise. 48:9 Cea mai mare lucrare a vietii lui a fost traducerea Scripturilor in limba engleza. Aceasta a fost prima traducere engleza completa facuta vreodata. Arta tiparitului fiind inca necunoscuta, copiile lucrarii puteau fi multiplicate doar prin truda inceata si obositoare; totusi lucrarea aceasta 48:10 a fost facuta, iar poporul englez a primit Biblia in propria-i limba. Lumina Cuvantului lui Dumnezeu a inceput astfel sa-si reverse razele stralucitoare asupra intunericului. O mana divina pregatea calea pentru Marea Reforma. 48:11 Apelul la judecata omeneasca a trezit poporul din supunerea pasiva fata de dogmele papale. Scripturile au fost primite favorabil de clasele inalte, care in acel timp erau singurele ce stiau sa citeasca. Wycliffe a invatat doctrinele distincte ale protestantismului: mantuirea prin credinta in Hristos si infailibilitatea apartinand numai Scripturilor. Multi preoti i s-au alaturat, punand Biblia in circulatie si predicand Evanghelia; iar efectul acestei lucrari, precum si al scrierilor lui Wycliffe, a fost atat de puternic, incat aproape jumatate din populatia Angliei a primit noua credinta. Imparatia intunericului tremura. 48:12 Eforturile dusmanilor lui de a-i opri lucrarea si de a-i lua viata n-au avut succes, iar el a murit in pace, la varsta de saizeci si unu de ani, in timp ce slujea la altar. 48:13 Raspandirea Reformei 48:14 Prin scrierile lui Wycliffe, Ian Huss din Boemia a fost condus sa renunte la multe din ratacirile catolicismului si sa inceapa lucrarea de reforma. Ca si Wycliffe, Huss a fost un crestin nobil, un om invatat, devotat cu statornicie adevarului. Faptul ca el apela la Scripturi si ca denunta cu indrazneala traiul scandalos si imoral al preotilor a trezit un interes larg si mii de oameni au primit cu bucurie o credinta mai curata. Aceasta a starnit mania papei, a prelatilor, preotilor si calugarilor, iar Huss a fost somat sa apara inaintea Conciliului de la Konstanz pentru a raspunde acuzatiei de erezie. Imparatul german i-a dat un bilet de libera trecere, 48:15 iar la sosirea in Konstanz a fost asigurat personal de catre papa ca nu i se va face nici o nedreptate. 48:16 Dupa un proces lung, in care a sustinut adevarul, lui Huss i s-a cerut sa aleaga fie sa-si retracteze doctrinele, fie sa sufere moartea. El a ales soarta martirului si, dupa ce si-a vazut cartile date flacarilor, el insusi a fost ars pe rug. In prezenta adunarii demnitarilor bisericii si statului, slujitorul lui Dumnezeu a rostit un protest solemn si cinstit impotriva ierarhiei papale. Executia lui, o violare fara rusine a celor mai solemne promisiuni publice de protectie, a expus lumii intregi cruzimea perfida a Romei. Dusmanii adevarului, fara sa stie, faceau sa inainteze cauza pe care cautau zadarnic s-o nimiceasca. 48:17 In ciuda furiei persecutiei, dupa moartea lui Wycliffe a continuat protestul calm, pios, staruitor si rabdator impotriva coruperii credintei crestine. Ca si credinciosii din zilele apostolilor, multi si-au sacrificat posesiunile pamantesti pentru cauza lui Hristos. 48:18 S-au facut forturi intense pentru a intari si a extinde puterea papalitatii, dar, in timp ce papii se pretindeau reprezentantii lui Hristos, vietile le erau atat de corupte incat dezgustau poporul. Cu ajutorul inventiei tiparului, Scripturile au ajuns mai accesibile si multi au fost condusi sa vada ca dogmele papale nu erau sustinute de Cuvantul lui Dumnezeu. 48:19 Cand un martor al lui Hristos era fortat sa lase torta adevarului sa cada, un altul o lua din mana lui si, cu un curaj neinfricat, o tinea sus. Lupta aceasta avea sa duca la emanciparea nu numai a indivizilor si a bisericilor, ci si a natiunilor. Peste 48:20 prapastia a o suta de ani, oamenii si-au intins mainile ca sa le prinda pe ale lolarzilor din timpul lui Wycliffe. In Germania, Reforma a inceput cu Luther; Calvin a predicat evanghelia in Franta, iar Zwingli in Elvetia. Lumea a fost trezita din somnul veacurilor, la sunetul cuvintelor magice "Libertate Religioasa", care treceau dintr-o tara in alta. |

Special note for ANDROID SmartPhones
I recommend to download PhoneMe emulator for Android from here.
Especially I recommend phoneME Advanced - Foundation Profile + MIDP High Resolution b168 rev20547 from here, or from here.
Then you have to build your application, to transfer the .jar and .jad files on your mobile phone and run using this nice emulator.
1. Install a Zip Utility from Android Market.
2. Install a File Manager from Android Market.
3. Download and install PhoneMe, as mentioned above.
4. Build your application by using Download Multilingual Service or Dynamic Download (zip).
5. Copy the zip file into your Android Phone and unzip the content in a folder, and then write down the path to the unzipped files and the name of the .jad file.
6. Launch PhoneMe from your smartphone.
7. Inside PhoneMe, write to the main window the path and the name to the .jad file, above mentioned. Will look something like: file:///mnt/sd/download/BiblePhone.jad and then press enter.
8. The application will be installed, and next a hyperlink will be available below the above mentioned textbox. On this way you can install as many of MIDP application you like on your Android Phone.
How to install the application in Java Mobile enabled phones
It is possible now to have the Holy Scriptures on your mobile phone and to read
it wherever you are due to the Mobile Information Device Profile (MIDP)
technology in 1.0 and 2.0 versions, developed for Java applications.
A good advice is to try in the beginning the MIDP 1.0 / 128 Kbytes version, and
progressively to advance to MIDP 2.0 and larger volumes (512 Kbytes or more).
The application is available for MIDP 2.0, MIDP 1.0. You have only to select one
table on the field MIDP2.0 or MIDP1.0, according to the desired Bible version.
Then, you shall make a click on the JAR (Java Archive) file in order to obtain
the software to be installed on your mobile phone.
I recommend you to start with STARTER(MIDP1.0old) edition, then to continue with
INTERMEDIATE(MIDP1.0), and in the end, if the mobile phone supports this thing,
to try to install the ADVANCED (MIDP2.0) edition. Also, start with 128 kbytes
volumes, continue with 512 kbytes, and at the end try the version in one file.
There are cases where the mobile phone requires so called JAD (Java Descriptor)
files. These JAD files has to be
uploaded, on this case, together with the desired JAR files(s).
There are different methods to download the applications in your mobile phone as
follows:
1. Directly from Internet by using a WAP or GPRS connection
2. By using the infrared port of the mobile phone
3. By wireless Bluetooth access to the mobile phone
4. By cable link between PC ad mobile phone
5. If none from the above cases are valid
Next, we shall examine each case in order to have a successfully installation of
the software.
1. Directly from Internet by using a WAP or GPRS connection
If your have Internet access on your mobile phone (e.g. WAP or GPRS), it is
enough to access
https://biblephone.intercer.net/wap/ from the browser of the mobile phone,
and to access the desired Bible version, and then to make an option about
MIDP1.0 or MIDP2.0, and finally to select the desired module (e.g. one or more).
After the last selection, the desired version will be downloaded on your mobile
phone.
Many phones have only this option for installing JAVA appplications.
2. By using the infrared port of the mobile phone
Sometimes there is a need for a special uploader software for specific mobile
phones.
If you don't have access to Internet directly from your mobile phone, then you
shall have to pass to this step requiring to have infrared ports on your mobile
phone and on the computer.
a. On this case, you will download the application by using the computer from
the Internet (i.e. JAR files).
b. Once the application is downloaded (preferable on the desktop) you will have
to activate the infrared port on the mobile phone and align it with the infrared
port of the computer (preferable laptop).
c. Then a window will appear asking what file you want to send to the mobile
phone. Next, you will select the downloaded JAR file, and after OK, the mobile
phone will ask you if you want to load that file. You say YES and the
application will be downloaded on your mobile phone.
d. Probably, you will be asked by the mobile phone where you want to save it (e.g.
on the games or applications directories). After you made this selection, the
file will be ready to be loaded for run.
The displaying preference can be set inside the application in order to have
larger fonts, full screen display etc.
3. By wireless Bluetooth access to the mobile phone
Sometimes there is a need for a special uploader software for specific mobile
phones.
This situation is similar with the infrared case. You have only to activate
Bluetooth access on your mobile phone (check if exists) and on the computer (check
if exists).
4. By cable link between PC ad mobile phone
Sometimes there is a need for a special uploader software for specific
mobile phones.
On this case the steps are as follows:
a. On this case, you will download the application by using the computer from
the Internet (i.e. JAR files).
b. Once the application is downloaded (preferable on the desktop) you will have
to set up the wired connection between the mobile phone and the computer. Next,
you will start the synchronization / data transfer application and download the
JAR file in your mobile phone. Surely, you will have to consult the CD of your
mobile phone.
c. By this application you shall transfer into your mobile phone the JAR file in
the games or applications directories. Next, you will have to select for run the
JAR desired file.
5. If none from the above cases are valid
On this unhappy case, I recommend you to find a friend with a laptop having
infrared / Bluetooth capabilities, or to buy a data link cable, or to change
your current model of mobile phone.
Unfortunately, some models of mobile phones require only WAP/GPRS in order to
download and run Java applications.
Sometimes there is a need for a special uploader software for specific mobile
phones. Therefore check the documentation of them and also the page for specific
models.
Why so many versions? Simple, because not all the mobile phones support the
Bible in one file with MIDP 2.0 (the most advanced for the time being).
