45:1 Cap. 43 - Martirajul lui Pavel si Petru 45:2 Apostolii Pavel si Petru au fost despartiti pentru multi ani de zile datorita lucrarii lor. In timp ce Petru a trudit in special pentru evrei, lucrarea lui Pavel a fost sa duca Evanghelia la neamuri. In providenta lui Dumnezeu, insa, amandoi aveau sa dea marturie pentru Hristos in metropolele lumii, in a caror tarana aveau sa-si verse amandoi sangele ca o samanta care avea sa dea o bogata recolta de sfinti si martiri. 45:3 Cam in timpul celei de-a doua arestari a lui Pavel, Petru a fost si el prins si aruncat in temnita. El se facuse neplacut autoritatilor in special prin zelul si succesul lui in expunerea inselatoriilor si in stricarea planurilor lui Simon Magul, vrajitorul care l-a urmarit la Roma pentru a se opune si a impiedica lucrarea Evangheliei. Nero credea in magie si-l patrona pe Simon. De aceea el s-a maniat teribil pe apostolul si s-a hotarat sa porunceasca arestarea lui. 45:4 Pica ce i-o purta imparatul lui Pavel a atins punctul culminant datorita faptului ca unii membri ai familiei imperiale si alte persoane distinse s-au convertit la crestinism in timpul primei sale intemnitari. Din aceasta cauza, i-a facut a doua intemnitare mult mai severa decat prima, fara sa-i mai dea ocazia de a predica Evanghelia; Nero a hotarat sa-i scurteze viata lui Pavel imediat ce ar fi gasit un pretext 45:5 plauzibil pentru a o face. Nero a fost atat de impresionat de puterea cuvintelor apostolului cu ocazia ultimului sau proces, incat a amanat sentinta cazului, fara sa-l achite sau sa-l condamne. Dar sentinta a fost doar amanata. Nu la mult timp, s-a pronuntat hotararea care l-a trimis pe Pavel intr-un mormant de martir. Fiind cetatean roman, el n-a putut fi supus torturii, de aceea a fost condamnat la moarte prin decapitare. 45:6 Petru, ca evreu si strain, a fost condamnat la biciuire si crucificare. In perspectiva acestei morti infricosatoare, apostolul si-a amintit de marele lui pacat, cand Il lepadase pe Domnul Isus in ceasul judecarii Sale, si singurul sau gand a fost ca el nu era vrednic de o cinste asa de mare ca sa moara in acelasi fel ca si Invatatorul lui. Petru se pocaise in mod sincer de acel pacat si fusese iertat de Domnul Hristos, asa cum arata inalta insarcinare ce i-a fost incredintata, de a paste oile si mieii turmei. El, insa, nu se putea ierta. Nici chiar gandul agoniei ultimelor clipe ingrozitoare nu i-au putut micsora amaraciunea intristarii si pocaintei. Ca ultima favoare, i-a rugat pe calaii sai sa fie rastignit cu capul in jos. Cererea i-a fost indeplinita si in felul acesta a murit marele apostol Petru. 45:7 Ultima marturie a lui Pavel 45:8 Pavel a fost dus la locul executiei in mod secret. Persecutorii, alarmati de proportiile influentei lui, se temeau ca ar putea fi castigati la crestinism noi convertiti, chiar prin scena mortii lui. Prin urmare, doar catorva spectatori li s-a ingaduit sa fie prezenti. Dar soldatii inaspriti numiti sa-l insoteasca i-au ascultat cuvintele si, uluiti, l-au vazut voios si chiar bucuros in asteptarea unei asemenea morti. Spiritul sau de iertare fata de ucigasii lui si increderea sa neclintita in Hristos pana la sfarsit s-au dovedit o mireasma de viata spre 45:9 viata pentru unii dintre cei care au fost martori la moartea lui de martir. In scurt timp, mai multi L-au primit pe Mantuitorul pe care-L predica Pavel si, neinfricati, si-au sigilat credinta cu sangele lor. 45:10 Pana in cel din urma ceas, viata lui Pavel a marturisit adevarul cuvintelor sale din a doua epistola catre corinteni: "Caci Dumnezeu care a zis: 'Sa lumineze lumina din intuneric' ne-a luminat inimile, pentru ca sa facem sa straluceasca lumina cunostintei slavei lui Dumnezeu pe fata lui Isus Hristos. Comoara aceasta o purtam in niste vase de lut, pentru ca aceasta putere nemaipomenita sa fie de la Dumnezeu si nu de la noi. Suntem incoltiti in toate chipurile, dar nu la stramtorare; in grea cumpana, dar nu deznadajduiti; prigoniti, dar nu parasiti; trantiti jos, dar nu omorati. Purtam intotdeauna cu noi, in trupul nostru, omorarea Domnului Isus, pentru ca si viata Lui sa se arate in trupul nostru." 2 Corinteni 4,6-19. Puterea lui nu se afla in el insusi, ci in prezenta si lucrarea Spiritului divin care ii umplea sufletul si aducea orice gand in supunere fata de vointa lui Hristos. Faptul ca propria-i viata era un exemplu al adevarului pe care il proclama dadea putere de convingere atat predicarii, cat si purtarii sale. Profetul spune: "Celui cu inima tare, Tu-i chezasluiesti pacea; da, pacea, caci se increde in Tine." Isaia 26,3. Tocmai aceasta pace cereasca, exprimata prin infatisare, a fost cea care a castigat multe suflete la Evanghelie. 45:11 Apostolul privea spre cele nevazute, nu cu nesiguranta sau cu frica, ci cu speranta plina de bucurie si cu asteptare plina de dor. In timp ce statea la locul executiei, el nu vedea sabia lucitoare a calaului sau pamantul verde care avea sa-i primeasca sangele curand; el privea in sus, prin cerul albastru si calm al acelei zile de vara, spre tronul Celui Vesnic. Cuvintele lui erau: O, Doamne, Tu esti mangaierea si partea mea. Cand te voi imbratisa? Cand Te 45:12 voi privi cu ochii mei, neacoperiti de valul intunecat? 45:13 In timpul vietii sale pamantesti, Pavel a purtat cu el chiar atmosfera cerului. Toti care s-au intovarasit cu el simteau influenta legaturii lui cu Hristos si a tovarasiei ingerilor. Aici sta puterea adevarului. Influenta nestudiata si inconstienta a unei vieti sfinte este cea mai convingatoare predica ce se poate tine in favoarea crestinismului. Argumentele, chiar cand sunt incontestabile, pot provoca numai impotrivire; dar un exemplu evlavios are o putere careia e imposibil sa i se reziste cu totul. 45:14 In timp ce apostolul pierduse din vedere apropiata-i suferinta, el simtea o grija profunda pentru ucenicii pe care era gata sa-i paraseasca, lasandu-i sa faca fata prejudecatilor, urii si prigoanei. El a incercat sa-i intareasca si sa-i incurajeze pe cei cativa crestini care l-au insotit la locul executiei, repetandu-le fagaduintele nespus de pretioase facute celor persecutati pentru neprihanire. El i-a asigurat ca nimic nu va ramane neimplinit din tot ce a spus Domnul cu privire la cei incercati si credinciosi ai Lui. Ei se vor ridica si vor lumina; caci lumina Domnului va rasari peste ei. Isi vor imbraca frumoasele lor vesminte cand se va arata slava Domnului. S-ar putea ca pentru scurta vreme ei sa treaca prin greutati, datorita multelor ispite, si sa fie lipsiti de confortul pamantesc; dar trebuie sa-si imbarbateze inimile spunand: Stiu in cine am crezut. El poate sa pastreze ce I-am incredintat. Mustrarea Lui se va sfarsi, iar dimineata fericita a pacii si ziua desavarsita vor veni. 45:15 Capetenia mantuirii noastre Si-a pregatit slujitorul pentru ultima mare lupta. Rascumparat prin jertfa lui Hristos, spalat de pacat in sangele Lui 45:16 si imbracat in neprihanirea Lui, Pavel are in el insusi marturia ca sufletul lui este scump in ochii Mantuitorului sau. Viata lui este ascunsa cu Hristos in Dumnezeu, iar el este convins ca Acela care a biruit moartea poate sa pastreze ceea ce I s-a incredintat. Cu mintea, el apuca fagaduinta Mantuitorului: "Eu il voi invia in ziua de apoi." Ioan 6,40. Gandurile si sperantele lui se indreapta catre a doua venire a Domnului sau; iar cand sabia calaului coboara si umbrele mortii se aduna in jurul sufletului martirului, ultimul lui gand, la fel ca si primul lui gand la marea desteptare, este de a-L intalni pe Datatorul vietii care il va primi in bucuria celor binecuvantati. 45:17 Au trecut multe secole de cand batranul Pavel si-a varsat sangele ca martor pentru Cuvantul lui Dumnezeu si pentru marturia lui Hristos. Nici o mana credincioasa nu a inregistrat pentru generatiile urmatoare ultimele scene din viata acestui om sfant; dar inspiratia ne-a pastrat marturia lui dinainte de moarte. Vocea lui a rasunat ca o trambita, prin veacuri, intarind cu propriu-i curaj mii de martori pentru Hristos si trezind in mii de inimi lovite de intristare ecoul propriei sale bucurii triumfatoare: "Sunt gata acum sa fiu turnat ca o jertfa de bautura si clipa plecarii mele este aproape. M-am luptat lupta cea buna, mi-am ispravit alergarea, am pazit credinta. De-acum ma asteapta cununa neprihanirii, pe care mi-o va da, in ziua aceea, Domnul, Judecatorul cel drept; si nu numai mie, ci si tuturor celor ce vor fi iubit venirea Lui." 2 Timotei 4,6-8. |

Special note for ANDROID SmartPhones
I recommend to download PhoneMe emulator for Android from here.
Especially I recommend phoneME Advanced - Foundation Profile + MIDP High Resolution b168 rev20547 from here, or from here.
Then you have to build your application, to transfer the .jar and .jad files on your mobile phone and run using this nice emulator.
1. Install a Zip Utility from Android Market.
2. Install a File Manager from Android Market.
3. Download and install PhoneMe, as mentioned above.
4. Build your application by using Download Multilingual Service or Dynamic Download (zip).
5. Copy the zip file into your Android Phone and unzip the content in a folder, and then write down the path to the unzipped files and the name of the .jad file.
6. Launch PhoneMe from your smartphone.
7. Inside PhoneMe, write to the main window the path and the name to the .jad file, above mentioned. Will look something like: file:///mnt/sd/download/BiblePhone.jad and then press enter.
8. The application will be installed, and next a hyperlink will be available below the above mentioned textbox. On this way you can install as many of MIDP application you like on your Android Phone.
How to install the application in Java Mobile enabled phones
It is possible now to have the Holy Scriptures on your mobile phone and to read
it wherever you are due to the Mobile Information Device Profile (MIDP)
technology in 1.0 and 2.0 versions, developed for Java applications.
A good advice is to try in the beginning the MIDP 1.0 / 128 Kbytes version, and
progressively to advance to MIDP 2.0 and larger volumes (512 Kbytes or more).
The application is available for MIDP 2.0, MIDP 1.0. You have only to select one
table on the field MIDP2.0 or MIDP1.0, according to the desired Bible version.
Then, you shall make a click on the JAR (Java Archive) file in order to obtain
the software to be installed on your mobile phone.
I recommend you to start with STARTER(MIDP1.0old) edition, then to continue with
INTERMEDIATE(MIDP1.0), and in the end, if the mobile phone supports this thing,
to try to install the ADVANCED (MIDP2.0) edition. Also, start with 128 kbytes
volumes, continue with 512 kbytes, and at the end try the version in one file.
There are cases where the mobile phone requires so called JAD (Java Descriptor)
files. These JAD files has to be
uploaded, on this case, together with the desired JAR files(s).
There are different methods to download the applications in your mobile phone as
follows:
1. Directly from Internet by using a WAP or GPRS connection
2. By using the infrared port of the mobile phone
3. By wireless Bluetooth access to the mobile phone
4. By cable link between PC ad mobile phone
5. If none from the above cases are valid
Next, we shall examine each case in order to have a successfully installation of
the software.
1. Directly from Internet by using a WAP or GPRS connection
If your have Internet access on your mobile phone (e.g. WAP or GPRS), it is
enough to access
https://biblephone.intercer.net/wap/ from the browser of the mobile phone,
and to access the desired Bible version, and then to make an option about
MIDP1.0 or MIDP2.0, and finally to select the desired module (e.g. one or more).
After the last selection, the desired version will be downloaded on your mobile
phone.
Many phones have only this option for installing JAVA appplications.
2. By using the infrared port of the mobile phone
Sometimes there is a need for a special uploader software for specific mobile
phones.
If you don't have access to Internet directly from your mobile phone, then you
shall have to pass to this step requiring to have infrared ports on your mobile
phone and on the computer.
a. On this case, you will download the application by using the computer from
the Internet (i.e. JAR files).
b. Once the application is downloaded (preferable on the desktop) you will have
to activate the infrared port on the mobile phone and align it with the infrared
port of the computer (preferable laptop).
c. Then a window will appear asking what file you want to send to the mobile
phone. Next, you will select the downloaded JAR file, and after OK, the mobile
phone will ask you if you want to load that file. You say YES and the
application will be downloaded on your mobile phone.
d. Probably, you will be asked by the mobile phone where you want to save it (e.g.
on the games or applications directories). After you made this selection, the
file will be ready to be loaded for run.
The displaying preference can be set inside the application in order to have
larger fonts, full screen display etc.
3. By wireless Bluetooth access to the mobile phone
Sometimes there is a need for a special uploader software for specific mobile
phones.
This situation is similar with the infrared case. You have only to activate
Bluetooth access on your mobile phone (check if exists) and on the computer (check
if exists).
4. By cable link between PC ad mobile phone
Sometimes there is a need for a special uploader software for specific
mobile phones.
On this case the steps are as follows:
a. On this case, you will download the application by using the computer from
the Internet (i.e. JAR files).
b. Once the application is downloaded (preferable on the desktop) you will have
to set up the wired connection between the mobile phone and the computer. Next,
you will start the synchronization / data transfer application and download the
JAR file in your mobile phone. Surely, you will have to consult the CD of your
mobile phone.
c. By this application you shall transfer into your mobile phone the JAR file in
the games or applications directories. Next, you will have to select for run the
JAR desired file.
5. If none from the above cases are valid
On this unhappy case, I recommend you to find a friend with a laptop having
infrared / Bluetooth capabilities, or to buy a data link cable, or to change
your current model of mobile phone.
Unfortunately, some models of mobile phones require only WAP/GPRS in order to
download and run Java applications.
Sometimes there is a need for a special uploader software for specific mobile
phones. Therefore check the documentation of them and also the page for specific
models.
Why so many versions? Simple, because not all the mobile phones support the
Bible in one file with MIDP 2.0 (the most advanced for the time being).
