40:1 Cap. 38 - Inceputul lucrarii lui Pavel 40:2 Pavel s-a intors la Damasc si a predicat cu indrazneala in Numele lui Isus. Evreii nu puteau face fata intelepciunii argumentelor lui, de aceea s-au sfatuit sa-i aduca glasul la tacere cu forta -- singurul argument al unei cauze pierdute. Au hotarat sa-l asasineze. Apostolul a fost instiintat de planurile lor. Portile cetatii erau pazite cu vigilenta zi si noapte, ca sa i se impiedice fuga. Ingrijorarea ucenicilor i-a indreptat catre Dumnezeu in rugaciune. Nici nu mai prea dormeau, caci erau ocupati sa gaseasca mijloace pentru scaparea apostolului ales. Pana la urma, au conceput un plan dupa care el a fost coborat noaptea peste zid, printr-o fereastra, intr-un cos. In felul acesta umilitor, a fugit Pavel din Damasc. 40:3 El a pornit apoi spre Ierusalim, dorind sa-i cunoasca pe apostolii de acolo, in special pe Petru. Era nerabdator sa-i intalneasca pe pescarii galileeni care traisera, se rugasera si vorbisera cu Domnul Hristos pe pamant. Dorea fierbinte, din toata inima, sa-l cunoasca pe cel mai mare dintre apostoli. Cand a intrat in Ierusalim, Pavel a privit cu alti ochi cetatea si templul. Stia acum ca asupra lor atarnau judecata si pedeapsa lui Dumnezeu. 40:4 Supararea si mania evreilor din cauza convertirii 40:5 lui Pavel nu cunostea margini. El, insa, era ferm ca o stanca si credea ca atunci cand le va relata prietenilor sai experienta lui minunata, ei isi vor schimba credinta cum facuse si el si vor crede in Isus. El fusese foarte constiincios in opozitia sa fata de Hristos si urmasii Lui, iar atunci cand a fost oprit si convins de pacatul sau, si-a parasit indata caile rele si a marturisit credinta lui Isus. Credea acum pe deplin ca prietenii si fostii lui asociati se vor convinge si ei de greseala lor si li se vor alatura credinciosilor cand vor auzi imprejurarile convertirii lui minunate si vor vedea cat se schimbase, din fariseul mandru care-i persecuta si-i dadea la moarte pe cei care credeau in Isus ca Fiul lui Dumnezeu. 40:6 Pavel a incercat sa se alature fratilor lui, ucenicii, dar mare i-au fost intristarea si dezamagirea cand a aflat ca nu voiau sa-l primeasca intre ei, ca pe unul de-ai lor. Ei isi aminteau persecutiile din trecut si-l suspectau ca joaca un rol, ca sa-i insele si sa-i nimiceasca. Intr-adevar auzisera de convertirea lui minunata, dar pentru ca el se retrasese apoi in Arabia si ei nu mai auzisera nimic precis despre el, nu dadeau crezare zvonurilor despre marea lui schimbare. 40:7 Intalnirea cu Petru si Iacov 40:8 Barnaba, care contribuia generos cu banii lui la sustinerea cauzei Domnului Hristos si la usurarea nevoilor celor saraci, il cunoscuse pe Pavel pe cand acesta era impotriva credinciosilor. El si-a reinnoit acea cunostinta, a ascultat marturia lui Pavel cu privire la minunata lui convertire si la experienta lui de dupa aceea. L-a crezut pe deplin si l-a primit pe Pavel, l-a luat de mana si l-a condus 40:9 la apostoli. Le-a povestit experienta pe care tocmai o auzise: ca Domnul Isus ii aparuse personal lui Pavel pe drumul spre Damasc, ca ii vorbise, ca el si-a recapatat vederea ca raspuns la rugaciunile lui Anania si ca de atunci a sustinut in sinagogile acelei cetati ca Isus era Fiul lui Dumnezeu. 40:10 Ucenicii n-au mai ezitat; ei nu puteau sa I se opuna lui Dumnezeu. Petru si Iacov, care pe vremea aceea erau singurii apostoli in Ierusalim, i-au intins mana dreapta a partasiei aceluia care odinioara fusese prigonitorul nemilos al credintei lor, iar Pavel a devenit tot atat de iubit si de respectat pe cat fusese de temut si de ocolit in trecut. Aici s-au intalnit cele doua figuri marete ale noii credinte: Petru, unul din tovarasii alesi ai lui Hristos cand era pe pamant si Pavel, fariseul, care dupa inaltarea lui Isus L-a intalnit fata in fata, a vorbit cu El si L-a vazut si in viziune atat pe El, cat si natura lucrarii Lui in cer. 40:11 Aceasta prima intrevedere a avut mare insemnatate pentru amandoi apostolii, dar a fost de scurta durata, deoarece Pavel era nerabdator sa plece la lucru pentru Maestrul lui. Curand, glasul care il contrazisese atat de zelos pe Stefan s-a auzit in aceeasi sinagoga, declarand fara teama ca Isus era Fiul lui Dumnezeu, aparand aceeasi cauza pentru care murise Stefan. El si-a relatat propria experienta minunata si, cu inima plina de o dorinta arzatoare pentru fratii si fostii lui asociati, a prezentat dovezile din profetie, cum facuse si Stefan, ca Domnul Isus care fusese rastignit era Fiul lui Dumnezeu. 40:12 Dar Pavel a socotit gresit spiritul fratilor sai evrei. Aceeasi furie care izbucnise impotriva lui Stefan s-a abatut de data aceasta impotriva lui. El a vazut ca trebuia sa se desparta de fratii lui si intristarea i-a umplut inima. 40:13 Bucuros si-ar fi dat si viata, daca ei ar fi putut sa fie astfel adusi la cunoasterea adevarului. Evreii au inceput sa faca planuri ca sa-i ia viata, iar ucenicii l-au indemnat sa paraseasca Ierusalimul; dar el a intarziat, nedorind sa plece si fiind nerabdator sa mai lucreze putin pentru fratii sai evrei. Pavel participase activ la martirizarea lui Stefan si dorea foarte mult sa stearga aceasta pata aparand cu indrazneala adevarul care il costase viata pe Stefan. I se parea o lasitate sa fuga din Ierusalim. 40:14 Fuga din Ierusalim 40:15 In timp ce Pavel, infruntand consecintele unui asemenea pas, se ruga fierbinte lui Dumnezeu in templu, Mantuitorul i S-a aratat intr-o viziune, spunand: "Grabeste-te, iesi iute din Ierusalim, caci nu vor primi marturisirea ta despre Mine." Chiar si atunci a ezitat Pavel sa paraseasca Ierusalimul inainte de a-i convinge pe evreii incapatanati de adevarul credintei lui. El gandea ca, chiar daca viata i-ar fi jertfita pentru adevar, aceasta n-ar insemna nimic mai mult decat plata pentru cumplita vina ce si-o imputa siesi: moartea lui Stefan. El a raspuns: "Doamne, ei stiu ca eu bagam in temnita si bateam prin sinagogi pe cei ce credeau in Tine: si ca atunci cand se varsa sangele lui Stefan, martirul Tau, eram si eu de fata, imi uneam incuviintarea mea cu a celorlalti si pazeam hainele celor ce-l omorau." Replica pe care a primit-o, insa, a fost mai hotarata decat inainte: "Du-te, caci te voi trimite departe la neamuri." 40:16 Cand au auzit fratii despre viziunea lui Pavel si despre grija pe care i-o purta Dumnezeu, nelinistea lor pentru el a crescut, deoarece isi dadeau seama ca era cu adevarat un vas ales de Domnul pentru a duce adevarul la neamuri. Ei au grabit fuga lui secreta 40:17 din Ierusalim, de frica sa nu fie omorat de evrei. Plecarea lui Pavel a suspendat pentru un timp opozitia violenta a evreilor, iar biserica a avut o perioada de odihna, timp in care multi au fost adaugati la numarul credinciosilor. |

Special note for ANDROID SmartPhones
I recommend to download PhoneMe emulator for Android from here.
Especially I recommend phoneME Advanced - Foundation Profile + MIDP High Resolution b168 rev20547 from here, or from here.
Then you have to build your application, to transfer the .jar and .jad files on your mobile phone and run using this nice emulator.
1. Install a Zip Utility from Android Market.
2. Install a File Manager from Android Market.
3. Download and install PhoneMe, as mentioned above.
4. Build your application by using Download Multilingual Service or Dynamic Download (zip).
5. Copy the zip file into your Android Phone and unzip the content in a folder, and then write down the path to the unzipped files and the name of the .jad file.
6. Launch PhoneMe from your smartphone.
7. Inside PhoneMe, write to the main window the path and the name to the .jad file, above mentioned. Will look something like: file:///mnt/sd/download/BiblePhone.jad and then press enter.
8. The application will be installed, and next a hyperlink will be available below the above mentioned textbox. On this way you can install as many of MIDP application you like on your Android Phone.
How to install the application in Java Mobile enabled phones
It is possible now to have the Holy Scriptures on your mobile phone and to read
it wherever you are due to the Mobile Information Device Profile (MIDP)
technology in 1.0 and 2.0 versions, developed for Java applications.
A good advice is to try in the beginning the MIDP 1.0 / 128 Kbytes version, and
progressively to advance to MIDP 2.0 and larger volumes (512 Kbytes or more).
The application is available for MIDP 2.0, MIDP 1.0. You have only to select one
table on the field MIDP2.0 or MIDP1.0, according to the desired Bible version.
Then, you shall make a click on the JAR (Java Archive) file in order to obtain
the software to be installed on your mobile phone.
I recommend you to start with STARTER(MIDP1.0old) edition, then to continue with
INTERMEDIATE(MIDP1.0), and in the end, if the mobile phone supports this thing,
to try to install the ADVANCED (MIDP2.0) edition. Also, start with 128 kbytes
volumes, continue with 512 kbytes, and at the end try the version in one file.
There are cases where the mobile phone requires so called JAD (Java Descriptor)
files. These JAD files has to be
uploaded, on this case, together with the desired JAR files(s).
There are different methods to download the applications in your mobile phone as
follows:
1. Directly from Internet by using a WAP or GPRS connection
2. By using the infrared port of the mobile phone
3. By wireless Bluetooth access to the mobile phone
4. By cable link between PC ad mobile phone
5. If none from the above cases are valid
Next, we shall examine each case in order to have a successfully installation of
the software.
1. Directly from Internet by using a WAP or GPRS connection
If your have Internet access on your mobile phone (e.g. WAP or GPRS), it is
enough to access
https://biblephone.intercer.net/wap/ from the browser of the mobile phone,
and to access the desired Bible version, and then to make an option about
MIDP1.0 or MIDP2.0, and finally to select the desired module (e.g. one or more).
After the last selection, the desired version will be downloaded on your mobile
phone.
Many phones have only this option for installing JAVA appplications.
2. By using the infrared port of the mobile phone
Sometimes there is a need for a special uploader software for specific mobile
phones.
If you don't have access to Internet directly from your mobile phone, then you
shall have to pass to this step requiring to have infrared ports on your mobile
phone and on the computer.
a. On this case, you will download the application by using the computer from
the Internet (i.e. JAR files).
b. Once the application is downloaded (preferable on the desktop) you will have
to activate the infrared port on the mobile phone and align it with the infrared
port of the computer (preferable laptop).
c. Then a window will appear asking what file you want to send to the mobile
phone. Next, you will select the downloaded JAR file, and after OK, the mobile
phone will ask you if you want to load that file. You say YES and the
application will be downloaded on your mobile phone.
d. Probably, you will be asked by the mobile phone where you want to save it (e.g.
on the games or applications directories). After you made this selection, the
file will be ready to be loaded for run.
The displaying preference can be set inside the application in order to have
larger fonts, full screen display etc.
3. By wireless Bluetooth access to the mobile phone
Sometimes there is a need for a special uploader software for specific mobile
phones.
This situation is similar with the infrared case. You have only to activate
Bluetooth access on your mobile phone (check if exists) and on the computer (check
if exists).
4. By cable link between PC ad mobile phone
Sometimes there is a need for a special uploader software for specific
mobile phones.
On this case the steps are as follows:
a. On this case, you will download the application by using the computer from
the Internet (i.e. JAR files).
b. Once the application is downloaded (preferable on the desktop) you will have
to set up the wired connection between the mobile phone and the computer. Next,
you will start the synchronization / data transfer application and download the
JAR file in your mobile phone. Surely, you will have to consult the CD of your
mobile phone.
c. By this application you shall transfer into your mobile phone the JAR file in
the games or applications directories. Next, you will have to select for run the
JAR desired file.
5. If none from the above cases are valid
On this unhappy case, I recommend you to find a friend with a laptop having
infrared / Bluetooth capabilities, or to buy a data link cable, or to change
your current model of mobile phone.
Unfortunately, some models of mobile phones require only WAP/GPRS in order to
download and run Java applications.
Sometimes there is a need for a special uploader software for specific mobile
phones. Therefore check the documentation of them and also the page for specific
models.
Why so many versions? Simple, because not all the mobile phones support the
Bible in one file with MIDP 2.0 (the most advanced for the time being).
