42:1 IUDEII HOTARASC SA-L UCIDA PE PAVEL 42:2 Cand preotii cei mai de seama si mai marii lor au constatat efectul relatarii experientei lui Pavel, s-au umplut de ura impotriva lui. Au vazut ca el Il propovaduia cu indrazneala pe Isus si facea minuni in Numele Lui, ca multimile il ascultau, se intorceau de la traditiile lor si ii priveau pe conducatorii lor iudei ca pe niste ucigasi ai Fiului lui Dumnezeu. Mania lor a fost astfel aprinsa si s-au adunat pentru a se consfatui, ca sa vada ce era cel mai bine de facut pentru a stinge tot acel entuziasm. Au fost de acord ca singura cale sigura era aceea de a-l ucide pe Pavel. Dar Dumnezeu le cunostea intentia si au fost trimisi ingeri sa-l apere, ca sa traiasca pentru a-si duce la bun sfarsit misiunea. 42:3 Condusi de Satana, iudeii necredinciosi tineau sub observatie zi si noapte portile Damascului pentru ca, in cazul ca Pavel ar fi iesit pe acolo, sa-l ucida imediat. Dar Pavel a fost informat ca iudeii cautau sa-i ia viata, iar ucenicii l-au lasat noaptea jos, peste zid, intr-un cos. La acest esec de a-si realiza planurile, iudeii au fost rusinati si revoltati si obiectivul lui Satana n-a fost atins. 42:4 Dupa aceasta, Pavel s-a dus la Ierusalim pentru a se alatura ucenicilor; dar le era tuturor frica de el. Nu puteau crede ca era si el un ucenic. In Damasc fusese vanat pentru a fi ucis, iar aici propriii lui frati nu voiau sa-l primeasca; dar Barnaba l-a luat, l-a adus la apostoli si le-a spus 42:5 cum Il vazuse acesta pe Domnul pe drum si ca predicase cu indrazneala la Damasc in Numele lui Isus. 42:6 Dar Satana ii atata pe iudei sa-l nimiceasca pe Pavel si Isus i-a poruncit sa paraseasca Ierusalimul. Impreuna cu Barnaba, s-a dus in alte cetati, predicandu-L pe Isus si facand minuni si multi au fost convertiti. Cand a fost vindecat un om care fusese olog din nastere, oamenii care se inchinau la idoli erau pe punctul de a aduce jertfe in cinstea ucenicilor. Pavel a fost indurerat si le-a spus ca el si tovarasul lui de lucrare nu erau altceva decat oameni ca si ei si ca numai Dumnezeu, care facuse cerul si pamantul, marea si toate din ea, numai El trebuia sa primeasca inchinare. Astfel, Pavel L-a inaltat pe Dumnezeu inaintea oamenilor; dar abia daca i-a putut opri. In mintea lor aparea primul licar de credinta in Dumnezeul adevarat si prima atitudine de inchinare si cinste ce I se cuveneau; si, in timp ce-l ascultau pe Pavel, Satana ii mana pe iudeii necredinciosi din alte cetati sa mearga in urma lui Pavel pentru a nimici lucrarea cea buna care se facea prin el. Acesti iudei atatau mintea acelor idolatri prin rapoarte mincinoase despre Pavel. Admiratia si incantarea oamenilor era schimbata acum in ura, si acestia, care nu cu mult timp in urma erau gata sa se inchine inaintea ucenicilor, au aruncat cu pietre in Pavel si l-au tarat afara din cetate, presupunand ca era mort. Dar in timp ce ucenicii stateau in jurul lui Pavel si il jeleau, spre bucuria lor, el s-a ridicat si a mers cu ei in cetate. 42:7 Iarasi, in timp ce Pavel si Sila Il propovaduiau pe Isus, o femeie care era posedata de un duh de ghicire s-a luat dupa ei, strigand: "Oamenii acestia sunt robii Dumnezeului Celui Preainalt si ei va vestesc calea mantuirii". Asa a umblat dupa ucenici multe zile. Dar Pavel era necajit; caci aceste strigate pe care le scotea dupa ei intorceau mintea oamenilor de la adevar. Scopul urmarit de Satana cand o mana sa faca aceasta era acela de a-i dezgusta pe oameni si de a 42:8 spulbera influenta ucenicilor. Duhul lui Pavel s-a revoltat in el, s-a intors si a zis spiritului: "In Numele lui Isus Hristos iti poruncesc sa iesi din ea". Duhul cel rau a fost mustrat si a parasit-o. 42:9 Stapanii acelei roabe erau multumiti ca aceasta striga dupa ucenici; dar, cand duhul cel rau a parasit-o si au vazut ca devenise o blanda ucenica a lui Hristos, au fost cuprinsi de manie. Ei stransesera multi bani, prin ghicitul ei, si acum nadejdea de a mai scoate castig de pe urma ei disparuse. Obiectivul urmarit de Satana nu fusese atins; dar slujitorii lui i-au prins pe Pavel si pe Sila si i-au tarat in piata inaintea fruntasilor si a dregatorilor, spunand: "Oamenii acestia ne tulbura cetatea. Sunt niste iudei." Si multimea s-a ridicat impotriva lor si dregatorii au pus sa le sfasie hainele de pe ei si au poruncit sa fie batuti. Si dupa ce le-au dat multe lovituri, i-au aruncat in temnita si au dat in grija temnicerului ca sa-i pazeasca bine. Acesta, primind o asemenea porunca, i-a aruncat in temnita interioara si le-a bagat picioarele in butuci. Dar ingerii Domnului i-au insotit in inchisoare si au facut ca intemnitarea lor sa ajunga sa fie spre slava lui Dumnezeu si sa arate oamenilor ca Dumnezeu era implicat in lucrare si alaturi de lucratorii Lui alesi. 42:10 La miezul noptii, Pavel si Sila s-au rugat si au inaltat cantari de lauda lui Dumnezeu si, dintr-o data, s-a facut un mare cutremur de pamant, incat au fost zguduite temeliile inchisorii; si am vazut ca ingerul lui Dumnezeu a dezlegat legaturile fiecaruia. Temnicerul, trezindu-se si vazand usile temnitei deschise, s-a infricosat. S-a gandit ca prizonierii evadasera si ca va trebui sa fie pedepsit cu moartea. Dar chiar cand era sa-si ia viata, Pavel a strigat cu glas puternic: "Sa nu-ti faci nici un rau, caci toti sunt aici". 42:11 Puterea lui Dumnezeu l-a convins pe temnicer acolo. A cerut o lumina, a sarit inauntru, a venit tremurand de frica si a cazut inaintea lui Pavel si a lui Sila, i-a scos afara si a zis: "Domnilor, ce trebuie sa fac ca sa fiu mantuit?" Si ei au spus: "Crede in Domnul Isus si vei fi mantuit, tu si casa ta". Temnicerul i-a strans apoi pe toti cei din casa lui si Pavel li L-a predicat pe Isus. In felul acesta, inima temnicerului s-a unit cu cea a fratilor sai, le-a spalat ranile si a fost botezat impreuna cu toata casa lui chiar in noaptea aceea. A pus apoi hrana inaintea lor si s-a bucurat, crezand in Dumnezeu cu toata casa lui. 42:12 Stirea minunata a manifestarii puterii lui Dumnezeu, prin deschiderea usilor temnitei si convertirea temnicerului si a familiei lui, s-a raspandit in curand peste tot. Mai marii au auzit aceste lucruri, s-au temut si au trimis vorba temnicerului, cerandu-i sa-i elibereze pe Pavel si pe Sila. Dar Pavel nu voia sa paraseasca temnita intr-un mod obisnuit; nu era dispus ca manifestarea puterii lui Dumnezeu sa fie ascunsa. Le-a spus: "Dupa ce ne-au batut cu nuiele in fata tuturor fara sa fim judecati, pe noi, care suntem romani, ne-au aruncat in temnita si acum ne scot afara pe ascuns! Nu merge asa! Sa vina ei singuri sa ne scoata afara!" Cand le-au fost transmise dregatorilor aceste cuvinte si a devenit un fapt cunoscut ca apostolii erau cetateni romani, conducatorii s-au temut ca acestia vor inainta o plangere inaintea imparatului din pricina modului ilegal in care fusesera tratati. Si au venit in persoana, s-au rugat de ei, i-au scos din temnita si i-au rugat sa paraseasca cetatea. |

Special note for ANDROID SmartPhones
I recommend to download PhoneMe emulator for Android from here.
Especially I recommend phoneME Advanced - Foundation Profile + MIDP High Resolution b168 rev20547 from here, or from here.
Then you have to build your application, to transfer the .jar and .jad files on your mobile phone and run using this nice emulator.
1. Install a Zip Utility from Android Market.
2. Install a File Manager from Android Market.
3. Download and install PhoneMe, as mentioned above.
4. Build your application by using Download Multilingual Service or Dynamic Download (zip).
5. Copy the zip file into your Android Phone and unzip the content in a folder, and then write down the path to the unzipped files and the name of the .jad file.
6. Launch PhoneMe from your smartphone.
7. Inside PhoneMe, write to the main window the path and the name to the .jad file, above mentioned. Will look something like: file:///mnt/sd/download/BiblePhone.jad and then press enter.
8. The application will be installed, and next a hyperlink will be available below the above mentioned textbox. On this way you can install as many of MIDP application you like on your Android Phone.
How to install the application in Java Mobile enabled phones
It is possible now to have the Holy Scriptures on your mobile phone and to read
it wherever you are due to the Mobile Information Device Profile (MIDP)
technology in 1.0 and 2.0 versions, developed for Java applications.
A good advice is to try in the beginning the MIDP 1.0 / 128 Kbytes version, and
progressively to advance to MIDP 2.0 and larger volumes (512 Kbytes or more).
The application is available for MIDP 2.0, MIDP 1.0. You have only to select one
table on the field MIDP2.0 or MIDP1.0, according to the desired Bible version.
Then, you shall make a click on the JAR (Java Archive) file in order to obtain
the software to be installed on your mobile phone.
I recommend you to start with STARTER(MIDP1.0old) edition, then to continue with
INTERMEDIATE(MIDP1.0), and in the end, if the mobile phone supports this thing,
to try to install the ADVANCED (MIDP2.0) edition. Also, start with 128 kbytes
volumes, continue with 512 kbytes, and at the end try the version in one file.
There are cases where the mobile phone requires so called JAD (Java Descriptor)
files. These JAD files has to be
uploaded, on this case, together with the desired JAR files(s).
There are different methods to download the applications in your mobile phone as
follows:
1. Directly from Internet by using a WAP or GPRS connection
2. By using the infrared port of the mobile phone
3. By wireless Bluetooth access to the mobile phone
4. By cable link between PC ad mobile phone
5. If none from the above cases are valid
Next, we shall examine each case in order to have a successfully installation of
the software.
1. Directly from Internet by using a WAP or GPRS connection
If your have Internet access on your mobile phone (e.g. WAP or GPRS), it is
enough to access
https://biblephone.intercer.net/wap/ from the browser of the mobile phone,
and to access the desired Bible version, and then to make an option about
MIDP1.0 or MIDP2.0, and finally to select the desired module (e.g. one or more).
After the last selection, the desired version will be downloaded on your mobile
phone.
Many phones have only this option for installing JAVA appplications.
2. By using the infrared port of the mobile phone
Sometimes there is a need for a special uploader software for specific mobile
phones.
If you don't have access to Internet directly from your mobile phone, then you
shall have to pass to this step requiring to have infrared ports on your mobile
phone and on the computer.
a. On this case, you will download the application by using the computer from
the Internet (i.e. JAR files).
b. Once the application is downloaded (preferable on the desktop) you will have
to activate the infrared port on the mobile phone and align it with the infrared
port of the computer (preferable laptop).
c. Then a window will appear asking what file you want to send to the mobile
phone. Next, you will select the downloaded JAR file, and after OK, the mobile
phone will ask you if you want to load that file. You say YES and the
application will be downloaded on your mobile phone.
d. Probably, you will be asked by the mobile phone where you want to save it (e.g.
on the games or applications directories). After you made this selection, the
file will be ready to be loaded for run.
The displaying preference can be set inside the application in order to have
larger fonts, full screen display etc.
3. By wireless Bluetooth access to the mobile phone
Sometimes there is a need for a special uploader software for specific mobile
phones.
This situation is similar with the infrared case. You have only to activate
Bluetooth access on your mobile phone (check if exists) and on the computer (check
if exists).
4. By cable link between PC ad mobile phone
Sometimes there is a need for a special uploader software for specific
mobile phones.
On this case the steps are as follows:
a. On this case, you will download the application by using the computer from
the Internet (i.e. JAR files).
b. Once the application is downloaded (preferable on the desktop) you will have
to set up the wired connection between the mobile phone and the computer. Next,
you will start the synchronization / data transfer application and download the
JAR file in your mobile phone. Surely, you will have to consult the CD of your
mobile phone.
c. By this application you shall transfer into your mobile phone the JAR file in
the games or applications directories. Next, you will have to select for run the
JAR desired file.
5. If none from the above cases are valid
On this unhappy case, I recommend you to find a friend with a laptop having
infrared / Bluetooth capabilities, or to buy a data link cable, or to change
your current model of mobile phone.
Unfortunately, some models of mobile phones require only WAP/GPRS in order to
download and run Java applications.
Sometimes there is a need for a special uploader software for specific mobile
phones. Therefore check the documentation of them and also the page for specific
models.
Why so many versions? Simple, because not all the mobile phones support the
Bible in one file with MIDP 2.0 (the most advanced for the time being).
