30:2 O DECLARATIE A LUI JAMES WHITE DESPRE INVATATURILE REFORMEI SANATATII

30:3 [Prezentand un raport despre adunarea de tabara din 1870 din Kansas, pastorul James White a facut urmatoarea declaratie privind lumina crescanda ce a fost primita asupra reformei sanatatii, primejdiile reprezentate de metodele incorecte de a prezenta aceste subiecte si atitudinea pe care o are Ellen White fata de anumite pozitii extremiste in favoarea carora pledau unii cu acea ocazie. Ca declaratie istorica, aceasta pune in lumina unele invataturi ale ei, de care s-a luat act la acea vreme. - Compilatorii.]

30:4 R and H., 8 noiembrie 1870 Ellen White a vorbit despre chestiunea sanitara intr-un mod in care sa ofere o deplina satisfactie. Remarcile sale au fost deslusite si puternice, dar cu toate acestea prudente, astfel incat a castigat de partea ei simtamintele intregii adunari. Ea evita intotdeauna extremele in privinta acestui subiect si este precauta sa adopte numai acele pozitii despre care este foarte sigura ca nu vor starni prejudecati.

30:5 Oamenii devin agitati cu usurinta si capata prejudecati cand este vorba de subiectul reformei sanatatii, daca cei ce se ocupa de ea sunt neinspirati in alegerea ocaziei sau in ceea ce priveste stilul in care o prezinta, mai cu seama daca stau inaintea poporului ca extremisti. Unele chestiuni delicate, cum ar fi aceea a "viciilor intime", nu ar trebui discutate decat foarte rar - sau chiar niciodata -, si aceasta numai in articole potrivite, legate de acest subiect. Nici unul din zece predicatori de-ai nostri nu este corect informat si bine pregatit sa se ocupe inaintea poporului de chestiunea sanatatii, cu diversele ei ramuri. Si cu greu s-ar putea estima cat de mare este prejudiciul adus cauzei adevarului prezent prin calea nepotrivita urmata de cei care au expus in mod gresit, intr-un loc si la un moment nepotrivit subiectul reformei sanatatii.

30:6 "Mai am sa va spun multe lucruri", a spus Isus, "dar acum nu le puteti purta." Isus a stiut cum sa indrume mintea ucenicilor Sai. Domnul a stiut, de asemenea, cum sa puna inaintea poporului Sau asteptator marele subiect al reformei sanatatii, pas cu pas, asa cum erau ei in stare sa-l suporte si sa-l foloseasca bine, fara sa irite mintea ascultatorilor. Se implinesc chiar in toamna aceasta douazeci si doi de ani de cand am fost indreptati sa privim asupra efectelor vatamatoare ale tutunului, ceaiului si cafelei,

30:7 prin marturia Ellenei White. Dumnezeu a binecuvantat in mod minunat efortul de a indeparta de la noi aceste lucruri, astfel incat, ca denominatiune, sa ne putem bucura - cu foarte putine exceptii - de biruinta asupra acestor ingaduinte daunatoare ale apetitului. [...]

30:8 Cand castigase o biruinta mare asupra acestor lucruri si cand Domnul a vazut ca eram in stare sa purtam ceva nou, ne-a fost data lumina despre mancare si imbracaminte. Si cauza reformei sanatatii printre cei din poporul nostru a mers cu consecventa inainte si au fost facute schimbari mari, mai ales in privinta folosirii carnii de porc, toate acestea pana la un anumit punct, cand, ca urmare a imbolnavirii sale, Ellen White a incetat sa mai vorbeasca si sa mai scrie despre subiectul reformei sanatatii. Din acel moment, putem data inceputul nenorocirilor si greselilor noastre ca popor referitor la acest subiect.

30:9 Iar de cand am redevenit activi, Ellen White se simte chemata sa vorbeasca despre subiectul reformei sanatatii mai ales din pricina extremelor prezentate de unii reformatori ai sanatatii, mai mult decat din oricare alt motiv. Faptul ca se asteapta ca toate sau aproape toate extremele legate de reforma sanatatii existente in poporul nostru sa primeasca aprobarea sa categorica este motivul pentru care ea se simte chemata sa-si exprime adevaratele sentimente. Poporul trebuie sa afle si ii va cunoaste la timpul potrivit pozitia fata de acest subiect.

30:10 In ce priveste folosirea tutunului, ceaiului, cafelei, alimentelor din carne si de asemenea imbracamintea, exista un consens. In momentul de fata insa, ea nu este pregatita sa imbratiseze pozitia extrema in privinta sarii, zaharului si laptelui. Daca nu ar mai fi alte motive de a actiona cu precautie privitor la aceste lucruri atat de obisnuite si de larg folosite, exista unul suficient de important, anume ca mintea multora nu este pregatita sa accepte realitatea cu privire la aceste lucruri. Esuarea completa a unor persoane si distrugerea aproape totala a unor comunitati pot fi atribuite in mod clar unor pozitii extremiste in dieta prezentate incorect in Review ceva timp in urma. 30:12 In aceasta stare de lucruri, oricat de descurajanta ar fi, Ellen White simte ca este chemata sa-si reia munca in acest sector al lucrarii si, facand aceasta, va actiona astfel incat conceptiile sale sa fie intelese pe deplin. Ar fi bine totusi sa spunem in acest punct ca, desi ea nu priveste laptele - luat in cantitati mari, asa cum se obisnuieste, mancat cu paine - ca fiind cel mai sanatos articol alimentar, deocamdata mintea sa nu a fost atentionata decat cu privire la importanta celei mai bune si sanatoase stari a vacii, al carei lapte este folosit in alimentatie. Ea nu se poate alatura actiunii de difuzare a publicatiilor care adopta o pozitie extremista asupra chestiunii importante a laptelui, avand in vedere lumina prezenta pe care o are despre acest subiect. Astfel de lucrari publicate se pot dovedi destul de bune pentru reformatori bine informati si pot fi un ghid corespunzator in sectorul culinar al Institutului nostru de Sanatate de la Battle Creek, dupa ce va disparea de pe mesele acestuia laptele folosit in mod regulat. Si asemenea lucrari pot avea o influenta mai mare printre cei din poporul nostru cand predicatorii care sunt ferventi reformatori in domeniul sanatatii vor renunta la folosirea neingradita a laptelui de vaca.

30:13 Aici este slabiciunea noastra legata de acest subiect. Publicatiile noastre, care merg la cei ignoranti si la cei predispusi intr-o mare masura la prejudecati, sunt cu un pas inainte in unele din aceste puncte fata de practicile acelora dintre noi care promovam reforma sanatatii. Ellen White pledeaza pentru ca aceasta chestiune sa fie schimbata in asa fel, incat publicatiile noastre sa exprime numai acele idei asupra carora cei care conduc reforma sunt de comun acord, si atunci sa o faca intr-un stil care sa nu starneasca prejudecati si sa indeparteze barbati si femei cumsecade de influenta noastra. Lasati ca actiunile concordante ale reformatorilor in domeniul sanatatii sa mearga inainte, fiind urmate apoi de publicatii care sa prezinte opinii mature, astfel ca si cei mai putin invatati sa le poata intelege si accepta.

30:14 Ellen White considera ca trecerea de la cele mai simple feluri de alimente din carne la o folosire excesiva a zaharului inseamna a trece "de la rau la mai rau". Ea ar recomanda o folosire foarte retinuta atat a zaharului, cat si a sarii. Apetitul poate si ar trebui adus la folosirea moderata a amandurora. In cazul celei din urma, dupa

30:15 cateva saptamani de folosire moderata a acesteia, mancarea avand o cantitate atat de mica de sare incat ar fi insipida pentru cel obisnuit sa foloseasca multa sare, ar fi dureros de sarata la gust.

30:16 In timp ce la tutun, ceai si cafea se poate renunta dintr-o data, rand pe rand, totusi, in cazul celor care sunt atat de nefericiti incat sa fie robii tuturor acestora, schimbarile in alimentatie ar trebui facute cu grija, una cate una. Si, cata vreme ea ar spune acest lucru celor ce sunt in primejdia de a face schimbari prea rapide, ar spune si celor care intarzie: asigurati-va si nu uitati sa faceti schimbari. Special note for ANDROID SmartPhones
I recommend to download PhoneMe emulator for Android from here. Especially I recommend phoneME Advanced - Foundation Profile + MIDP High Resolution b168 rev20547 from here, or from here.

Then you have to build your application, to transfer the .jar and .jad files on your mobile phone and run using this nice emulator.

1. Install a Zip Utility from Android Market.

2. Install a File Manager from Android Market.

3. Download and install PhoneMe, as mentioned above.

4. Build your application by using Download Multilingual Service or Dynamic Download (zip).

5. Copy the zip file into your Android Phone and unzip the content in a folder, and then write down the path to the unzipped files and the name of the .jad file.

6. Launch PhoneMe from your smartphone.

7. Inside PhoneMe, write to the main window the path and the name to the .jad file, above mentioned. Will look something like: file:///mnt/sd/download/BiblePhone.jad and then press enter.

8. The application will be installed, and next a hyperlink will be available below the above mentioned textbox. On this way you can install as many of MIDP application you like on your Android Phone.


How to install the application in Java Mobile enabled phones

It is possible now to have the Holy Scriptures on your mobile phone and to read it wherever you are due to the Mobile Information Device Profile (MIDP) technology in 1.0 and 2.0 versions, developed for Java applications.

A good advice is to try in the beginning the MIDP 1.0 / 128 Kbytes version, and progressively to advance to MIDP 2.0 and larger volumes (512 Kbytes or more).

The application is available for MIDP 2.0, MIDP 1.0. You have only to select one table on the field MIDP2.0 or MIDP1.0, according to the desired Bible version. Then, you shall make a click on the JAR (Java Archive) file in order to obtain the software to be installed on your mobile phone.

I recommend you to start with STARTER(MIDP1.0old) edition, then to continue with INTERMEDIATE(MIDP1.0), and in the end, if the mobile phone supports this thing, to try to install the ADVANCED (MIDP2.0) edition. Also, start with 128 kbytes volumes, continue with 512 kbytes, and at the end try the version in one file.

There are cases where the mobile phone requires so called JAD (Java Descriptor) files. These JAD files has to be uploaded, on this case, together with the desired JAR files(s).

There are different methods to download the applications in your mobile phone as follows:
1. Directly from Internet by using a WAP or GPRS connection
2. By using the infrared port of the mobile phone
3. By wireless Bluetooth access to the mobile phone
4. By cable link between PC ad mobile phone
5. If none from the above cases are valid

Next, we shall examine each case in order to have a successfully installation of the software.


1. Directly from Internet by using a WAP or GPRS connection
 

If your have Internet access on your mobile phone (e.g. WAP or GPRS), it is enough to access https://biblephone.intercer.net/wap/  from the browser of the mobile phone, and to access the desired Bible version, and then to make an option about MIDP1.0 or MIDP2.0, and finally to select the desired module (e.g. one or more). After the last selection, the desired version will be downloaded on your mobile phone.

Many phones have only this option for installing JAVA appplications.

2. By using the infrared port of the mobile phone

Sometimes there is a need for a special uploader software for specific mobile phones.

If you don't have access to Internet directly from your mobile phone, then you shall have to pass to this step requiring to have infrared ports on your mobile phone and on the computer.
a. On this case, you will download the application by using the computer from the Internet (i.e. JAR files).
b. Once the application is downloaded (preferable on the desktop) you will have to activate the infrared port on the mobile phone and align it with the infrared port of the computer (preferable laptop).

c. Then a window will appear asking what file you want to send to the mobile phone. Next, you will select the downloaded JAR file, and after OK, the mobile phone will ask you if you want to load that file. You say YES and the application will be downloaded on your mobile phone.
d. Probably, you will be asked by the mobile phone where you want to save it (e.g. on the games or applications directories). After you made this selection, the file will be ready to be loaded for run.
The displaying preference can be set inside the application in order to have larger fonts, full screen display etc.

3. By wireless Bluetooth access to the mobile phone

Sometimes there is a need for a special uploader software for specific mobile phones.
This situation is similar with the infrared case. You have only to activate Bluetooth access on your mobile phone (check if exists) and on the computer (check if exists).

4. By cable link between PC ad mobile phone
Sometimes there is a need for a special uploader software for specific mobile phones.
On this case the steps are as follows:

a. On this case, you will download the application by using the computer from the Internet (i.e. JAR files).
b. Once the application is downloaded (preferable on the desktop) you will have to set up the wired connection between the mobile phone and the computer. Next, you will start the synchronization / data transfer application and download the JAR file in your mobile phone. Surely, you will have to consult the CD of your mobile phone.
c. By this application you shall transfer into your mobile phone the JAR file in the games or applications directories. Next, you will have to select for run the JAR desired file.

5. If none from the above cases are valid
On this unhappy case, I recommend you to find a friend with a laptop having infrared / Bluetooth capabilities, or to buy a data link cable, or to change your current model of mobile phone.
Unfortunately, some models of mobile phones require only WAP/GPRS in order to download and run Java applications.


Sometimes there is a need for a special uploader software for specific mobile phones. Therefore check the documentation of them and also the page for specific models.

Why so many versions? Simple, because not all the mobile phones support the Bible in one file with MIDP 2.0 (the most advanced for the time being).
