42:1 Cap. 40 - Pavel cere sa fie trimis inaintea Cezarului 42:2 Festus, cand a venit in tinutul sau, dupa trei zile s-a suit de la Cezarea in Ierusalim. Preotii cei mai de seama si fruntasii iudeilor i-au adus plangere impotriva lui Pavel. L-au rugat cu staruinta si i-au cerut, ca un hatar pentru ei, sa trimita sa-l aduca la Ierusalim". Facand aceasta cerere, ei planuiau sa-l pandeasca pe Pavel in drumul catre Ierusalim si sa-l omoare. Insa Festus avea un inalt simt al raspunderii pozitiei sale si, foarte amabil, a refuzat sa-l trimita pe Pavel. El a spus "ca la romani nu este obiceiul sa se dea nici un om, inainte ca cel parat sa fi fost pus fata cu parasii lui, si sa fi avut putinta sa se apere de lucrurile de care este parat" (Fapte 25,16). El ii asigura ca "are sa plece in curand" la Cezarea. "Deci" cei mai de frunte dintre voi sa se pogoare impreuna cu mine si, daca este ceva vinovat in omul acesta, sa-l parasca". 42:3 Nu acesta era lucrul pe care-l doreau iudeii. Ei nu uitasera infrangerea pe care o suferisera mai inainte la Cezarea. In contrast cu purtarea linistita si argumentarea puternica a apostolului, spiritul lor plin de rautate si invinuirile lor neintemeiate aveau sa apara in lumina cea mai urata cu putinta. Din nou, au staruit ca Pavel sa fie adus la Ierusalim spre a fi judecat, insa Festus a tinut cu tarie la planul sau ca Pavel sa fie judecat dupa toata randuiala la Cezarea. In providenta Sa, Dumnezeu a tinut sub control hotararea lui Festus pentru ca viata apostolului sa fie prelungita. 42:4 Odata infrante planurile lor, fruntasii iudeilor s-au pregatit de indata sa aduca marturii impotriva lui Pavel la tribunalul procuratorului. Reintorcandu-se la Cezarea, dupa cateva zile de sedere la Ierusalim, Festus "a doua zi a sezut pe scaunul de judecator si a poruncit sa fie adus Pavel". "Iudeii, care venisera de la Ierusalim, l-au inconjurat si au adus impotriva lui Pavel multe si grele invinuiri, pe care nu le puteau dovedi". De data aceasta fiind fara avocat, iudeii au socotit ca este mai bine sa-l invinuiasca ei insisi. In desfasurarea judecatii, acuzatul, foarte linistit si sincer, a aratat lamurit falsitatea afirmatiilor lor. 42:5 Festus a inteles ca problema in discutie se referea in totul la doctrina iudaica si ca, judecand dupa dreptate, in sarcina lui Pavel ei nu puteau dovedi nimic care sa-i aduca o condamnare la moarte sau macar la intemnitare. Totusi, el a vazut clar furtuna de ura ce s-ar fi starnit, daca Pavel nu ar fi fost condamnat sau dat in mainile lor. Si astfel, fiindca "voia sa capete bunavointa iudeilor", Festus s-a intors catre Pavel si l-a intrebat daca 42:6 vrea, fiind aparat de el, sa mearga la Ierusalim spre a fi judecat de Sinedriu. 42:7 Apostolul stia ca nu se putea astepta la dreptate din partea unui popor care, prin crimele lui, atrasese asupra-si mania lui Dumnezeu. El stia ca, asemenea profetului Ilie, el va fi mai in siguranta intre pagani decat daca ar fi impreuna cu aceia care lepadasera lumina din cer si-si impietrisera inimile fata de Evanghelie. Obosit de lupta, spiritul lui activ indura cu greu repetatele amanari si plictisitoarele suspendari ale judecarii si intemnitarii sale. De aceea, s-a hotarat sa se foloseasca de privilegiul sau de cetatean roman, cerand sa fie trimis inaintea Cezarului. 42:8 Raspunzand intrebarii guvernatorului, Pavel a spus: "Eu stau inaintea scaunului de judecata al Cezarului; acolo trebuie sa fiu judecat. Pe iudei nu i-am nedreptatit cu nimic, dupa cum stii si tu foarte bine. Daca am facut vreo nedreptate sau vreo nelegiuire vrednica de moarte, nu ma dau in laturi de la moarte; dar, daca nu este nimic adevarat din lucrurile de care ma parasc ei, nimeni n-are dreptul sa ma dea in mainile lor. Cer sa fiu judecat de Cezar". 42:9 Festus nu stia nimic despre conspiratia iudeilor ca sa-l omoare pe Pavel si el a ramas mirat de cererea de a fi trimis inaintea Cezarului. Totusi, cuvintele apostolului au curmat procedura de judecata a curtii. "Festus, dupa ce s-a chibzuit cu sfetnicii lui, a raspuns: 'De Cezar ai cerut sa fii judecat, inaintea Cezarului te vei duce'". 42:10 Astfel, o data mai mult, din pricina urii izvorate din bigotismul si indreptatirea de sine a conationalilor sai, un slujitor al lui Dumnezeu a fost impins sa caute ocrotire la pagani. Aceeasi ura l-a silit pe profetul Ilie sa fuga spre a gasi ajutor la vaduva 42:11 din Sarepta; aceeasi ura i-a silit pe vestitorii Evangheliei sa-i paraseasca pe iudei si sa proclame solia lor la Neamuri. Si aceeasi ura o au de intampinat si in veacul acesta credinciosii lui Dumnezeu. In multi dintre pretinsii urmasi ai lui Hristos exista aceeasi mandrie, acelasi formalism si egoism, acelasi spirit de asuprire care ocupa un loc asa de mare in inima iudeilor. In viitor, oameni pretinzand a fi reprezentantii lui Hristos vor umbla pe o cale asemanatoare aceleia urmate de preoti si conducatori in purtarea fata de Hristos si apostoli. In marea criza prin care slujitorii credinciosi ai lui Dumnezeu vor avea de trecut in curand, ei vor avea de intampinat aceeasi impietrire a inimii, aceeasi hotarare cruda si aceeasi ura neinduplecata. 42:12 Toti aceia care in acel timp de rautate vor fi gata sa serveasca fara teama lui Dumnezeu, dupa cum le dicteaza constiinta, vor avea nevoie de curaj, statornicie si o cunoastere a lui Dumnezeu si a Cuvantului Sau; caci cei care sunt credinciosi lui Dumnezeu vor fi prigoniti, intentiile lor rastalmacite, stradaniile lor cele mai bune vor fi interpretate gresit, iar numele lor lepadate ca fiind rele. Satana va lucra cu toata puterea lui amagitoare spre a influenta inima si a intuneca priceperea, pentru a face ca raul sa apara bine si binele rau. Cu cat va fi mai puternica si mai curata credinta poporului lui Dumnezeu si mai staruitoare hotararea lor de a-L asculta, cu atat mai inversunat se va stradui Satana sa starneasca impotriva lor ura acelora care, in timp ce pretind a fi neprihaniti, calca in picioare Legea lui Dumnezeu. Se va cere cea mai temeinica incredere si hotararea cea mai eroica, pentru a putea tine cu tarie credinta care a fost data sfintilor odata pentru totdeauna. 42:13 Dumnezeu doreste ca poporul Sau sa se pregateasca pentru 42:14 criza ce va veni in curand. Pregatiti sau nepregatiti, ei trebuie sa o intampine cu totii; si numai aceia care si-au adus viata in armonie cu masura divina vor sta tari in acel timp de proba si incercare. Cand autoritatile de stat se vor uni cu slujitorii religiei ca sa dicteze in probleme de constiinta, atunci se va vedea cine se teme cu adevarat de Dumnezeu si Ii slujeste. Cand intunericul va fi mai profund, lumina unui caracter dumnezeiesc va straluci mai puternic. Cand orice alt sprijin va cadea, atunci se va vedea cine are o incredere dainuitoare in Iehova. Si, in timp ce vrajmasii adevarului stau la fiecare colt, pandind sa faca rau slujitorilor Domnului, Dumnezeu va veghea asupra lor spre a le face bine. El va fi pentru ei ca umbra unei stanci mari intr-un loc pustiu. |

Special note for ANDROID SmartPhones
I recommend to download PhoneMe emulator for Android from here.
Especially I recommend phoneME Advanced - Foundation Profile + MIDP High Resolution b168 rev20547 from here, or from here.
Then you have to build your application, to transfer the .jar and .jad files on your mobile phone and run using this nice emulator.
1. Install a Zip Utility from Android Market.
2. Install a File Manager from Android Market.
3. Download and install PhoneMe, as mentioned above.
4. Build your application by using Download Multilingual Service or Dynamic Download (zip).
5. Copy the zip file into your Android Phone and unzip the content in a folder, and then write down the path to the unzipped files and the name of the .jad file.
6. Launch PhoneMe from your smartphone.
7. Inside PhoneMe, write to the main window the path and the name to the .jad file, above mentioned. Will look something like: file:///mnt/sd/download/BiblePhone.jad and then press enter.
8. The application will be installed, and next a hyperlink will be available below the above mentioned textbox. On this way you can install as many of MIDP application you like on your Android Phone.
How to install the application in Java Mobile enabled phones
It is possible now to have the Holy Scriptures on your mobile phone and to read
it wherever you are due to the Mobile Information Device Profile (MIDP)
technology in 1.0 and 2.0 versions, developed for Java applications.
A good advice is to try in the beginning the MIDP 1.0 / 128 Kbytes version, and
progressively to advance to MIDP 2.0 and larger volumes (512 Kbytes or more).
The application is available for MIDP 2.0, MIDP 1.0. You have only to select one
table on the field MIDP2.0 or MIDP1.0, according to the desired Bible version.
Then, you shall make a click on the JAR (Java Archive) file in order to obtain
the software to be installed on your mobile phone.
I recommend you to start with STARTER(MIDP1.0old) edition, then to continue with
INTERMEDIATE(MIDP1.0), and in the end, if the mobile phone supports this thing,
to try to install the ADVANCED (MIDP2.0) edition. Also, start with 128 kbytes
volumes, continue with 512 kbytes, and at the end try the version in one file.
There are cases where the mobile phone requires so called JAD (Java Descriptor)
files. These JAD files has to be
uploaded, on this case, together with the desired JAR files(s).
There are different methods to download the applications in your mobile phone as
follows:
1. Directly from Internet by using a WAP or GPRS connection
2. By using the infrared port of the mobile phone
3. By wireless Bluetooth access to the mobile phone
4. By cable link between PC ad mobile phone
5. If none from the above cases are valid
Next, we shall examine each case in order to have a successfully installation of
the software.
1. Directly from Internet by using a WAP or GPRS connection
If your have Internet access on your mobile phone (e.g. WAP or GPRS), it is
enough to access
https://biblephone.intercer.net/wap/ from the browser of the mobile phone,
and to access the desired Bible version, and then to make an option about
MIDP1.0 or MIDP2.0, and finally to select the desired module (e.g. one or more).
After the last selection, the desired version will be downloaded on your mobile
phone.
Many phones have only this option for installing JAVA appplications.
2. By using the infrared port of the mobile phone
Sometimes there is a need for a special uploader software for specific mobile
phones.
If you don't have access to Internet directly from your mobile phone, then you
shall have to pass to this step requiring to have infrared ports on your mobile
phone and on the computer.
a. On this case, you will download the application by using the computer from
the Internet (i.e. JAR files).
b. Once the application is downloaded (preferable on the desktop) you will have
to activate the infrared port on the mobile phone and align it with the infrared
port of the computer (preferable laptop).
c. Then a window will appear asking what file you want to send to the mobile
phone. Next, you will select the downloaded JAR file, and after OK, the mobile
phone will ask you if you want to load that file. You say YES and the
application will be downloaded on your mobile phone.
d. Probably, you will be asked by the mobile phone where you want to save it (e.g.
on the games or applications directories). After you made this selection, the
file will be ready to be loaded for run.
The displaying preference can be set inside the application in order to have
larger fonts, full screen display etc.
3. By wireless Bluetooth access to the mobile phone
Sometimes there is a need for a special uploader software for specific mobile
phones.
This situation is similar with the infrared case. You have only to activate
Bluetooth access on your mobile phone (check if exists) and on the computer (check
if exists).
4. By cable link between PC ad mobile phone
Sometimes there is a need for a special uploader software for specific
mobile phones.
On this case the steps are as follows:
a. On this case, you will download the application by using the computer from
the Internet (i.e. JAR files).
b. Once the application is downloaded (preferable on the desktop) you will have
to set up the wired connection between the mobile phone and the computer. Next,
you will start the synchronization / data transfer application and download the
JAR file in your mobile phone. Surely, you will have to consult the CD of your
mobile phone.
c. By this application you shall transfer into your mobile phone the JAR file in
the games or applications directories. Next, you will have to select for run the
JAR desired file.
5. If none from the above cases are valid
On this unhappy case, I recommend you to find a friend with a laptop having
infrared / Bluetooth capabilities, or to buy a data link cable, or to change
your current model of mobile phone.
Unfortunately, some models of mobile phones require only WAP/GPRS in order to
download and run Java applications.
Sometimes there is a need for a special uploader software for specific mobile
phones. Therefore check the documentation of them and also the page for specific
models.
Why so many versions? Simple, because not all the mobile phones support the
Bible in one file with MIDP 2.0 (the most advanced for the time being).
