3:1 Cuvantul Domnului a vorbit a doua oara lui Iona, astfel: A doua oara. Fara sa-l mustre pentru dezertarea anterioara a lui Iona, Domnul repeta insarcinarea de a le predica ninivitenilor. Fara sa mai cedeze inclinatiilor omenesti, Iona asculta fara intarziere de chemarea cereasca si fara sa mai zaboveasca pleaca spre Ninive. 3:2 Scoala-te, du-te la Ninive, cetatea cea mare, si vesteste acolo strigarea pe care ti-o voi da! Scoala-te si du-te. Din cauza repetarii acestor cuvinte (vezi cap. 1,2), unii invatati biblici considera ca este probabil ca atunci cand Iona a fost eliberat din ,,pestele cel mare”, el s-a dus la Ierusalim pentru a ,,aduce jertfe” si pentru a implini juruintele la care s-a facut aluzie in rugaciunea lui de multumire (cap. 2,9). Aceasta este pura presupunere. In vremurile de atunci, o corabie care calatorea de la Iafo la Tars urma probabil linia tarmului Palestinei catre nord. Daca intamplarea cu pestele cel mare a avut loc pe la inceputul calatoriei, se poate ca Iona sa se fi aflat mult mai aproape de Ninive, decat atunci cand se imbarcase (vezi comentariul la cap. 1,3; vezi harta, p. 994). Vesteste. Sau ,,Predica”. Ebr. qara’, cuvantul tradus ,,striga” in cap. 1,2. Pe care ti-o voi da. Insarcinarea data lui Iona este aceea data oricarui propovaduitor al cuvantului. Numai cuvantul lui Dumnezeu trebuie sa fie vestit de la amvon, si nu cuvantul omului (vezi 2Timotei 4,1.2). Sufletele nelinistite si ingrijorate din lumea noastra plina de necazuri de astazi tanjesc sa primeasca sfat de la Dumnezeu, nu parerile si filozofiile lipsite de continut si nesigure ale unor oameni la fel de supusi greselii ca si ei. Ei prefera un: ,,Asa zice Domnul”, unui ,,Asa zice un om”. 3:3 Si Iona s-a sculat, si s-a dus la Ninive, dupa Cuvantul Domnului. Si Ninive era o cetate foarte mare, cat o calatorie de trei zile. Iona s-a sculat. Profetul era acum dispus sa indeplineasca insarcinarea data lui de Dumnezeu in aceeasi masura in care mai inainte fusese gata sa fuga de ea. Foarte mare. Ebr. le’lohim, literal, ,,pentru Dumnezeu”, un mod idiomatic de a arata extrema marime. Cu privire la dimensiunile cetatii vezi Nota Aditionala la capitolul 1. 3:4 Iona a inceput sa patrunda in oras, cale de o zi, strigand si zicand: Inca patruzeci de zile, si Ninive va fi nimicita! Cale de o zi. Nu trebuie sa deducem din aceasta afirmatie ca Iona a mers timp de o zi intreaga inainte de a-si incepe predica. Afirmatia este probabil raportul predicarii din prima zi. Fara indoiala ca imediat ce a patruns in cetate, Iona a inceput sa-si vesteasca solia lui de avertizare. Inca patruzeci de zile. Nu este nevoie sa se presupuna ca aceste cuvinte constituiau textul complet al soliei lui Iona. Ele constituiau, totusi, tema dominanta a avertizarii lui. Nimicita. Ebr. haphak, cuvant folosit in Geneza 19,21.25.29 pentru a descrie nimicirea Sodomei. 3:5 Oamenii din Ninive au crezut in Dumnezeu, au vestit un post, si s-au imbracat cu saci, de la cei mai mari pana la cei mai mici. Au crezut in Dumnezeu. Cu privire la fundalul posibil, interpretat de unii ca ajutand la succesul predicarii lui Iona, vezi p. 995, 996. Saci. Un material aspru de culoare inchisa tesut din par de capra si purtat in timp de doliu si de nenorocire (vezi Daniel 9,3; Matei 11,21; Luca 10,13). 3:6 Lucrul a ajuns la urechea imparatului din Ninive; el s-a sculat de pe scaunul lui de domnie, si-a scos mantia de pe el, s-a acoperit cu un sac, si a sezut in cenusa. Imparatului. Posibil Adad-Nirari III (vezi p. 996). Simtamantul de intristare si pocainta pare sa se fi nascut in chip spontan in inima oamenilor fara vreo porunca regala oficiala (v. 5). Este un spectacol remarcabil acela de a-l vedea pe un domnitor al celui mai puternic imperiu al timpului sau ca se smereste ,,in cenusa” ca urmare a predicarii unui profet strain. Ce mustrare pentru conducatorii si cetatenii ingamfati ai lui Israel, care au refuzat staruitor sa-si smereasca inima sub impactul unei lucrari profetice mai extinse si continue (vezi 2Regi 17,7-18). 3:7 Si a trimis sa se dea de stire in Ninive, din porunca imparatului si mai marilor lui, urmatoarele: Oamenii si vitele, boii si oile, sa nu guste nimic, sa nu pasca, si nici sa nu bea apa deloc! Sa se dea de stire. Cand valul penitentei si al smeririi care a pornit de la popor a ajuns la imparat, el a confirmat postul printr-un decret oficial. Mai marii lui erau alaturi de el in darea acestui decret, aratand ca duhul lor era in aceeasi stare ca si a lui in criza aceasta. Si vitele. Un decret straniu, dar trebuie sa ne amintim ca era dat de un imparat pagan, care fusese luminat numai partial. Un obicei asemanator este povestit in cartea apocrifa Iudita, scrisa probabil in secolul al II-lea i.Hr.: ,,Atunci intreg Israelul striga catre Dumnezeu cu mare ravna si se smeri cu infocare. Atat ei cat si femeile si copiii lor, vitele si strainii si simbriasii si robii cumparati se incinsera cu sac peste coapsele lor.” (Iudita 4,9.10). Herodot raporteaza ca la un anumit prilej, Persii si-au taiat si parul lor si parul (coamele si cozile?) cailor si vitelor lor de povara intr-un timp de doliu general (ix, 24). Dar in ce masura practicile acestea vor fi reflectat obiceiurile asiriene, nu stim. 3:8 Ci oamenii si vitele sa se acopere cu saci, sa strige cu putere catre Dumnezeu, si sa se intoarca de la calea lor cea rea si de la faptele de asuprire, de care le sunt pline mainile! Sa se intoarca. Adica, oamenii. Faptele religioase exterioare sunt lipsite de valoare spirituala daca nu sunt insotite de o reforma sincera, launtrica a caracterului. -8- Asuprire. Compara Amos 3,10. 3:9 Cine stie daca nu Se va intoarce Dumnezeu si Se va cai, si daca nu-Si va opri mania Lui aprinsa, ca sa nu pierim! Cine stie? Este indoielnic ca Iona va fi dat vreo fagaduinta despre o posibila inversare a decretului divin. Mania lui cu prilejul crutarii cetatii (cap. 4,1) arata ca el nu facuse asa ceva. Cu toate acestea el era extrem de constient de caracterul indurator al lui Dumnezeu (cap. 4,2). 3:10 Dumnezeu a vazut ce faceau ei si ca se intorceau de la calea lor cea rea. Atunci Dumnezeu S-a cait de raul pe care se hotarase sa li-l faca, si nu l-a facut. Se intorceau. Compara Matei 12,41; vezi PK 363. Dumnezeu S-a cait. Dumnezeu nu Se schimba, asa cum se intampla cu imprejurarile (vezi Ieremia 18,7-10; Ezechiel 33,13-16). Avertizarile Lui cu privire la judecata sunt adesea, de fapt, profetii conditionale (vezi comentariul la Ezechiel 25,1). Special note for ANDROID SmartPhones
I recommend to download PhoneMe emulator for Android from here.
Especially I recommend phoneME Advanced - Foundation Profile + MIDP High Resolution b168 rev20547 from here, or from here.
Then you have to build your application, to transfer the .jar and .jad files on your mobile phone and run using this nice emulator.
1. Install a Zip Utility from Android Market.
2. Install a File Manager from Android Market.
3. Download and install PhoneMe, as mentioned above.
4. Build your application by using Download Multilingual Service or Dynamic Download (zip).
5. Copy the zip file into your Android Phone and unzip the content in a folder, and then write down the path to the unzipped files and the name of the .jad file.
6. Launch PhoneMe from your smartphone.
7. Inside PhoneMe, write to the main window the path and the name to the .jad file, above mentioned. Will look something like: file:///mnt/sd/download/BiblePhone.jad and then press enter.
8. The application will be installed, and next a hyperlink will be available below the above mentioned textbox. On this way you can install as many of MIDP application you like on your Android Phone.
How to install the application in Java Mobile enabled phones
It is possible now to have the Holy Scriptures on your mobile phone and to read
it wherever you are due to the Mobile Information Device Profile (MIDP)
technology in 1.0 and 2.0 versions, developed for Java applications.
A good advice is to try in the beginning the MIDP 1.0 / 128 Kbytes version, and
progressively to advance to MIDP 2.0 and larger volumes (512 Kbytes or more).
The application is available for MIDP 2.0, MIDP 1.0. You have only to select one
table on the field MIDP2.0 or MIDP1.0, according to the desired Bible version.
Then, you shall make a click on the JAR (Java Archive) file in order to obtain
the software to be installed on your mobile phone.
I recommend you to start with STARTER(MIDP1.0old) edition, then to continue with
INTERMEDIATE(MIDP1.0), and in the end, if the mobile phone supports this thing,
to try to install the ADVANCED (MIDP2.0) edition. Also, start with 128 kbytes
volumes, continue with 512 kbytes, and at the end try the version in one file.
There are cases where the mobile phone requires so called JAD (Java Descriptor)
files. These JAD files has to be
uploaded, on this case, together with the desired JAR files(s).
There are different methods to download the applications in your mobile phone as
follows:
1. Directly from Internet by using a WAP or GPRS connection
2. By using the infrared port of the mobile phone
3. By wireless Bluetooth access to the mobile phone
4. By cable link between PC ad mobile phone
5. If none from the above cases are valid
Next, we shall examine each case in order to have a successfully installation of
the software.
1. Directly from Internet by using a WAP or GPRS connection
If your have Internet access on your mobile phone (e.g. WAP or GPRS), it is
enough to access
https://biblephone.intercer.net/wap/ from the browser of the mobile phone,
and to access the desired Bible version, and then to make an option about
MIDP1.0 or MIDP2.0, and finally to select the desired module (e.g. one or more).
After the last selection, the desired version will be downloaded on your mobile
phone.
Many phones have only this option for installing JAVA appplications.
2. By using the infrared port of the mobile phone
Sometimes there is a need for a special uploader software for specific mobile
phones.
If you don't have access to Internet directly from your mobile phone, then you
shall have to pass to this step requiring to have infrared ports on your mobile
phone and on the computer.
a. On this case, you will download the application by using the computer from
the Internet (i.e. JAR files).
b. Once the application is downloaded (preferable on the desktop) you will have
to activate the infrared port on the mobile phone and align it with the infrared
port of the computer (preferable laptop).
c. Then a window will appear asking what file you want to send to the mobile
phone. Next, you will select the downloaded JAR file, and after OK, the mobile
phone will ask you if you want to load that file. You say YES and the
application will be downloaded on your mobile phone.
d. Probably, you will be asked by the mobile phone where you want to save it (e.g.
on the games or applications directories). After you made this selection, the
file will be ready to be loaded for run.
The displaying preference can be set inside the application in order to have
larger fonts, full screen display etc.
3. By wireless Bluetooth access to the mobile phone
Sometimes there is a need for a special uploader software for specific mobile
phones.
This situation is similar with the infrared case. You have only to activate
Bluetooth access on your mobile phone (check if exists) and on the computer (check
if exists).
4. By cable link between PC ad mobile phone
Sometimes there is a need for a special uploader software for specific
mobile phones.
On this case the steps are as follows:
a. On this case, you will download the application by using the computer from
the Internet (i.e. JAR files).
b. Once the application is downloaded (preferable on the desktop) you will have
to set up the wired connection between the mobile phone and the computer. Next,
you will start the synchronization / data transfer application and download the
JAR file in your mobile phone. Surely, you will have to consult the CD of your
mobile phone.
c. By this application you shall transfer into your mobile phone the JAR file in
the games or applications directories. Next, you will have to select for run the
JAR desired file.
5. If none from the above cases are valid
On this unhappy case, I recommend you to find a friend with a laptop having
infrared / Bluetooth capabilities, or to buy a data link cable, or to change
your current model of mobile phone.
Unfortunately, some models of mobile phones require only WAP/GPRS in order to
download and run Java applications.
Sometimes there is a need for a special uploader software for specific mobile
phones. Therefore check the documentation of them and also the page for specific
models.
Why so many versions? Simple, because not all the mobile phones support the
Bible in one file with MIDP 2.0 (the most advanced for the time being).
