19:1 Dupa aceea, Nahas, imparatul fiilor lui Amon, a murit, si in locul lui a domnit fiul sau. Dupa aceea. Capitolul 19 este paralel cu 2 Samuel 10. In Samuel capitolul care vorbeste despre bunatatea lui David fata de Mefiboset, nepotul de la fiu al lui Saul (2 Samuel 9), vine dupa raportul despre biruinta repurtata de David asupra vrajmasilor sai (2 Samuel 8). Raportul nu apare nicaieri in Cronici. Capitolul de fata se ocupa cu o mare coalitie de natiuni care s-a unit impotriva lui David dupa ce regatul lui s-a bucurat de o perioada de pace. Expresia "dupa aceea" este folosita exact la fel ca si la cap. 18,1 si nu arata neaparat succesiunea imediata cronologica. Ea e folosita si in 2 Samuel 10,1, unde evenimentul care urmeaza este bunatatea lui David fata de Mefiboset, in timp ce aici vine dupa rezumatul luptelor lui David impotriva vrajmasilor sai. Capitolul acesta pare sa se refere la originea si dezvoltarea coalitiei impotriva lui David care l-a implicat in razboaie de la Edom pana la Eufrat, si care s-a incheiat cu biruintele si cuceririle mentionate in cap. 18 (vezi la cap. 18,11). 19:2 David a zis: Voi arata bunavointa lui Hanun, fiul lui Nahas, caci tatal lui a aratat bunavointa fata de mine. Si David a trimis soli sa-l mangaie pentru moartea tatalui sau. Cand au ajuns slujitorii lui David in tara fiilor lui Amon, la Hanun, ca sa-l mangaie, Verset ce nu a fost comentat. 19:3 capeteniile fiilor lui Amon au zis lui Hanun: Crezi ca David iti trimite oameni sa te mangaie, ca sa cinsteasca pe tatal tau? Oare n-au venit slujitorii lui la tine ca sa cunoasca cetatea si s-o nimiceasca, si ca sa iscodeasca tara? Verset ce nu a fost comentat. 19:4 Atunci Hanun a luat pe slujitorii lui David, a pus sa-i rada, si sa le taie hainele pe la mijloc pana la brau. Apoi le-a dat drumul. Sa-i rada. "Le-a ras barba pe jumatate" (2 Samuel 10,4). 19:5 David, caruia au venit si i-au dat de stire despre cele intamplate cu oamenii acestia, a trimis niste oameni inaintea lor, caci li se facuse mare rusine; si imparatul a trimis sa le spuna: Ramaneti la Ierihon pana va va creste barba, si apoi sa va intoarceti. Verset ce nu a fost comentat. 19:6 Fiii lui Amon au vazut ca se facusera urati lui David, si Hanun si fiii lui Amon au trimis o mie de talanti de argint sa tocmeasca in slujba lor care si calareti de la Sirienii din Mesopotamia si de la Sirienii din Maaca si din Toba. Cara si calareti. In Orientul antic era o practica obisnuita de a lua trupe cu imprumut (2 Regi 7,6; 2 Cronici 25,6). In cazul acesta regii Siriei au raspuns bucurosi chemarii lui Amon, deoarece erau nerabdatori sa infranga puterea tot mai mare a lui Israel. Mesopotamia. Ebr. 'Aram naharayim, "Aram al celor doua rauri". Aceasta era regiunea Padan-Aram (vezi Genesa 24,10). Pasajul paralel spune "Bet-Rehob" (2 Samuel 10,6). 19:7 Au tocmit treizeci si doua de mii de care si pe imparatul din Maaca impreuna cu poporul lui, care au venit si au tabarat inaintea Medebei. Fiii lui Amon s-au strans din cetatile lor, si au mers la lupta. Treizeci si doua de mii de cara. Cifrele date aici sunt in armonie cu cele date de Samuel, care prezinta o lista de 20.000 de pedestrasi sirienii si 12.000 de oameni din Tob, un total de 32.000, impreuna cu 1.000 de oameni din Maaca (vezi la 2 Samuel 10,6). Medeba. O cetate aflata la aproximativ 10 km sud de Hesbon si la aproximativ 10 km est de Marea Moarta. 19:8 La auzul acestei vesti, David a trimis impotriva lor pe Ioab si toata ostirea de oameni viteji. Verset ce nu a fost comentat. 19:9 Fiii lui Amon au iesit, si s-au insirat in linie de bataie la intrarea cetatii; imparatii care venisera au tabarat deosebit pe camp. Imparati. Toba, Rehob, Tob si Maaca (vezi la 2 Samuel 10,6.8). Pe camp. Adica intr-un loc deschis sau pe campia Medeba (vezi Iosua 13,9.16), unde era loc de manevre pentru care si cavalerie. 19:10 Ioab a vazut ca avea de luptat si inainte si inapoi. A ales atunci din toti voinicii de frunte ai lui Israel o ceata, pe care a asezat-o impotriva Sirienilor; Impotriva sirienilor. Sirienii, cu carele si cavaleria lor, ar fi fost cea mai formidabila amenintare, asa ca Ioab a pornit personal impotriva lor cu oamenii alesi din Israel. 19:11 si a pus sub porunca fratelui sau Abisai cealalta parte a poporului, ca sa tina piept fiilor lui Amon. Verset ce nu a fost comentat. 19:12 El a zis: Daca Sirienii vor fi mai tari decat mine, sa-mi vii tu in ajutor; si daca fiii lui Amon vor fi mai tari decat tine, iti voi veni eu in ajutor. Iti voi veni eu in ajutor. Cei doi frati se intelesesera ca acela dintre ei care ar fi fost infrant de vrajmas sa primeasca ajutorul celuilalt. 19:13 Fii tare, si sa ne imbarbatam pentru poporul nostru si pentru cetatile Dumnezeului nostru, si Domnul sa faca ce va crede! Fii tare. [Fii curajos, KJV]. Cuvintele de incurajare sunt adesea izvorul puterii si secretul biruintei. Sa ne imbarbatam. [Sa ne purtam vitejeste, KJV]. "Sa ne aratam plini de barbatie" ["Sa fim barbati", KJV] (2 Samuel 10,12). Fiecare dintre ei s-a declarat hotarat sa faca totul ca biruinta sa poata fi asigurata. Cand oamenii infrunta problemele vietii cu un astfel de spirit, succesul le este asigurat, indiferent de superioritatea celor care le stau impotriva. Pentru poporul nostru. Oamenii lui Israel luptau nu numai pentru ei, ci pentru poporul lor si pentru Dumnezeul lor. Aceasta le-a dat un curaj infinit mai mare in lupta in care erau angajati. Israel lupta pentru viata sa si pentru onoarea lui Iehova. Domnul sa faca. Lupta in care era angajat Israel nu era doar a omului, ci si a lui Dumnezeu. De aceea era numai normal sa se exprime dorinta pioasa ca Dumnezeu sa Se manifeste si sa faca in asa fel incat voia Lui sa invinga. In spatele rugaciunii acesteia se afla gandul: "Faca-se voia Ta" (vezi Matei 26,29). Voia lui Dumnezeu era ca Israel sa se instaleze in tara pe care le-o fagaduise. 19:14 Ioab, cu poporul lui, a inaintat la lupta impotriva Sirienilor, si ei au fugit dinaintea lui. Ei au fugit dinaintea lui. Nici chiar toate carele Siriei nu erau mai puternice ca Israel, caci ceea ce lipsea lui Israel in numar era completat de vitejie si ceea ce ii lipsea in care si cai era completat peste masura prin prezenta lui Dumnezeu. 19:15 Si cand au vazut fiii lui Amon ca Sirienii o luasera la fuga, au fugit si ei dinaintea lui Abisai, fratele lui Ioab, si s-au intors in cetate. Si Ioab s-a intors la Ierusalim. Verset ce nu a fost comentat. 19:16 Sirienii, vazand ca fusesera batuti de Israel, au trimis si au adus pe Sirienii care erau de cealalta parte a Raului; si Sofah, capetenia ostirii lui Hadarezer, era in fruntea lor. Sirienii vazand. Cand sirienii cei mandri si-au dat seama ca fusesera infranti de ostirile lui Israel, au fost foarte suparati si s-au hotarat sa-si stearga rusinea printr-o noua proba de arme. De cealalta parte a raului. Adica, a Eufratului. Acolo a avut loc o adunare nemaipomenita de popoare aramaice, incluzand nu numai pe cele din Siria de nord la vest de Eufrat, dar si pe unele la est de rau. Cu o ostire atat de formidabila sirienii trebuie sa se fi simtit suficient de siguri de victorie. Hadarezer. Acesta este regele amintit anterior, in cap. 18,3, al Tobei, si lupta mentionata acolo este probabil legata de aceasta chemare a aliatilor de dincolo de Eufrat. Era in fruntea lor. Potrivit cu 2 Samuel 10,16, sirienii "au mers la Helam". Helamul poate fi identificat cu 'Alma din regiunea Hauran, la est de Galileea. 19:17 Au dat de stire lui David, care a strans pe tot Israelul, a trecut Iordanul, a mers impotriva lor, si s-a pregatit de lupta impotriva lor. David s-a insiruit in linie de bataie impotriva Sirienilor. Dar Sirienii, dupa ce se batusera cu el, David. Evident datorita amenintarii primejdiei prezente, David insusi a mers la lupta si si-a condus ostirile peste Iordan pentru a da piept cu ostirile unite ale sirienilor si amonitilor. 19:18 au fugit dinaintea lui Israel. David le-a ucis oamenii de la sapte mii de care si patruzeci de mii de pedestrasi, si a omorat pe Sofah, capetenia ostirii. Sapte mii. In 2 Samuel 10,18, se spune sapte sute. E imposibil de determinat care este cifra corecta. LXX si ebraica sunt puse de acord. Patruzeci de mii de pedestrasi. David a castigat o biruinta extraordinara. Numarul celor ucisi in ciocnirea aceasta a fost mai mare decat totalul fortelor aliatilor sirieni din ciocnirea precedenta. 19:19 Slujitorii lui Hadarezer, vazandu-se batuti de Israel, au facut pace cu David, si i s-au supus. Si Sirienii n-au vrut sa mai ajute pe fiii lui Amon. I s-au supus. Aceasta este probabil biruinta prin care David si-a extins puterea pana la Eufrat (cap. 18,3). Alianta formidabila contra lui ii amenintase regatul cu nimicire deplina. Dar cu ajutorul Domnului, el a castigat o biruinta care a conferit regatului sau o maretie fara precedent. Aceasta nu inseamna ca teritoriul lui Israel se intindea practic pana la Eufrat (vezi harta colorata din vol. Special note for ANDROID SmartPhones
I recommend to download PhoneMe emulator for Android from here.
Especially I recommend phoneME Advanced - Foundation Profile + MIDP High Resolution b168 rev20547 from here, or from here.
Then you have to build your application, to transfer the .jar and .jad files on your mobile phone and run using this nice emulator.
1. Install a Zip Utility from Android Market.
2. Install a File Manager from Android Market.
3. Download and install PhoneMe, as mentioned above.
4. Build your application by using Download Multilingual Service or Dynamic Download (zip).
5. Copy the zip file into your Android Phone and unzip the content in a folder, and then write down the path to the unzipped files and the name of the .jad file.
6. Launch PhoneMe from your smartphone.
7. Inside PhoneMe, write to the main window the path and the name to the .jad file, above mentioned. Will look something like: file:///mnt/sd/download/BiblePhone.jad and then press enter.
8. The application will be installed, and next a hyperlink will be available below the above mentioned textbox. On this way you can install as many of MIDP application you like on your Android Phone.
How to install the application in Java Mobile enabled phones
It is possible now to have the Holy Scriptures on your mobile phone and to read
it wherever you are due to the Mobile Information Device Profile (MIDP)
technology in 1.0 and 2.0 versions, developed for Java applications.
A good advice is to try in the beginning the MIDP 1.0 / 128 Kbytes version, and
progressively to advance to MIDP 2.0 and larger volumes (512 Kbytes or more).
The application is available for MIDP 2.0, MIDP 1.0. You have only to select one
table on the field MIDP2.0 or MIDP1.0, according to the desired Bible version.
Then, you shall make a click on the JAR (Java Archive) file in order to obtain
the software to be installed on your mobile phone.
I recommend you to start with STARTER(MIDP1.0old) edition, then to continue with
INTERMEDIATE(MIDP1.0), and in the end, if the mobile phone supports this thing,
to try to install the ADVANCED (MIDP2.0) edition. Also, start with 128 kbytes
volumes, continue with 512 kbytes, and at the end try the version in one file.
There are cases where the mobile phone requires so called JAD (Java Descriptor)
files. These JAD files has to be
uploaded, on this case, together with the desired JAR files(s).
There are different methods to download the applications in your mobile phone as
follows:
1. Directly from Internet by using a WAP or GPRS connection
2. By using the infrared port of the mobile phone
3. By wireless Bluetooth access to the mobile phone
4. By cable link between PC ad mobile phone
5. If none from the above cases are valid
Next, we shall examine each case in order to have a successfully installation of
the software.
1. Directly from Internet by using a WAP or GPRS connection
If your have Internet access on your mobile phone (e.g. WAP or GPRS), it is
enough to access
https://biblephone.intercer.net/wap/ from the browser of the mobile phone,
and to access the desired Bible version, and then to make an option about
MIDP1.0 or MIDP2.0, and finally to select the desired module (e.g. one or more).
After the last selection, the desired version will be downloaded on your mobile
phone.
Many phones have only this option for installing JAVA appplications.
2. By using the infrared port of the mobile phone
Sometimes there is a need for a special uploader software for specific mobile
phones.
If you don't have access to Internet directly from your mobile phone, then you
shall have to pass to this step requiring to have infrared ports on your mobile
phone and on the computer.
a. On this case, you will download the application by using the computer from
the Internet (i.e. JAR files).
b. Once the application is downloaded (preferable on the desktop) you will have
to activate the infrared port on the mobile phone and align it with the infrared
port of the computer (preferable laptop).
c. Then a window will appear asking what file you want to send to the mobile
phone. Next, you will select the downloaded JAR file, and after OK, the mobile
phone will ask you if you want to load that file. You say YES and the
application will be downloaded on your mobile phone.
d. Probably, you will be asked by the mobile phone where you want to save it (e.g.
on the games or applications directories). After you made this selection, the
file will be ready to be loaded for run.
The displaying preference can be set inside the application in order to have
larger fonts, full screen display etc.
3. By wireless Bluetooth access to the mobile phone
Sometimes there is a need for a special uploader software for specific mobile
phones.
This situation is similar with the infrared case. You have only to activate
Bluetooth access on your mobile phone (check if exists) and on the computer (check
if exists).
4. By cable link between PC ad mobile phone
Sometimes there is a need for a special uploader software for specific
mobile phones.
On this case the steps are as follows:
a. On this case, you will download the application by using the computer from
the Internet (i.e. JAR files).
b. Once the application is downloaded (preferable on the desktop) you will have
to set up the wired connection between the mobile phone and the computer. Next,
you will start the synchronization / data transfer application and download the
JAR file in your mobile phone. Surely, you will have to consult the CD of your
mobile phone.
c. By this application you shall transfer into your mobile phone the JAR file in
the games or applications directories. Next, you will have to select for run the
JAR desired file.
5. If none from the above cases are valid
On this unhappy case, I recommend you to find a friend with a laptop having
infrared / Bluetooth capabilities, or to buy a data link cable, or to change
your current model of mobile phone.
Unfortunately, some models of mobile phones require only WAP/GPRS in order to
download and run Java applications.
Sometimes there is a need for a special uploader software for specific mobile
phones. Therefore check the documentation of them and also the page for specific
models.
Why so many versions? Simple, because not all the mobile phones support the
Bible in one file with MIDP 2.0 (the most advanced for the time being).
