43:1 Cap. 41 - "Vrei sa ma indupleci" 43:2 Pavel ceruse sa fie trimis inaintea Cezarului si Festus nu putea face altceva decat sa-l trimita la Roma. Dar a trecut catava vreme pana sa poata fi gasita o corabie potrivita; si, cum si alti intemnitati trebuia sa fie trimisi impreuna cu Pavel, cercetarea cazurilor lor a mai dat loc la intarziere. Aceasta i-a oferit lui Pavel ocazia sa infatiseze motivele credintei sale inaintea barbatilor de seama din Cezarea, cum si inaintea imparatului Agripa al II-lea, ultimul dintre Irozi. 43:3 "Dupa cateva zile, imparatul Agripa si Berenice au sosit la Cezarea, ca sa ureze de bine lui Festus. Fiindca au stat acolo mai multe zile, Festus a spus imparatului cum stau lucrurile cu Pavel si a zis: 'Felix a lasat in temnita pe un om, impotriva caruia, cand eram eu in Ierusalim, mi s-au plans preotii cei mai de seama si batranii iudeilor, si i-au cerut osandirea'". El a schitat imprejurarile care l-au determinat pe intemnitat sa ceara sa fie trimis inaintea Cezarului, vorbind despre recenta cercetare a lui Pavel inaintea sa si spunand ca iudeii nu au adus impotriva 43:4 lui Pavel nici o invinuire asa cum isi inchipuise el, ci "numai niste neintelegeri cu privire la religia lor si la un oarecare Isus, care a murit, si despre care Pavel spunea ca este viu". 43:5 Cand Festus i-a vorbit despre cele intamplate cu Pavel, Agripa a devenit interesat si a zis: "As vrea sa aud si eu pe omul acela". Potrivit vointei sale, s-a stabilit ca a doua zi sa aiba loc o intalnire. "A doua zi, deci, Agripa si Berenice au venit cu multa fala si au intrat in locul de ascultare impreuna cu capitanii si cu oamenii cei mai de frunte ai cetatii. La porunca lui Festus, Pavel a fost adus acolo". 43:6 In cinstea oaspetilor sai, Festus a cautat sa faca din aceasta ocazie o ceremonie impunatoare. Mantiile cele bogate ale procuratorului si ale oaspetilor lui, sabiile ostasilor, precum si armurile lucitoare ale comandantilor lor dadeau stralucire scenei. 43:7 Si iata-l pe Pavel, inca incatusat, stand inaintea celor adunati. Ce contrast se infatisa aici! Agripa si Berenice detineau putere si rang si, din pricina aceasta, erau in gratiile lumii. Insa ei erau lipsiti de trasaturile de caracter pretuite de Dumnezeu. Ei erau calcatori ai Legii Sale, stricati in inima si viata. Felul lor de purtare era o scarba inaintea cerului. 43:8 Batranul intemnitat, legat cu lanturi de ostasul ce-l pazea, nu avea in infatisarea sa nimic care sa faca lumea a-i da cinste. Totusi, de acest om, in aparenta fara prieteni, fara bogatie sau rang si intemnitat pentru credinta sa in Fiul lui Dumnezeu, se interesa intreg cerul. Daca s-ar fi dezvaluit slava unuia din solii stralucitori, 43:9 fala si mandria imparateasca ar fi palit; imparatii si curtenii ar fi fost trantiti la pamant, dupa cum fusese straja romana la mormantul Domnului Hristos. 43:10 Insusi Festus l-a prezentat pe Pavel inaintea adunarii prin aceste cuvinte: "Imparate Agripa, si voi toti care sunteti de fata cu noi; uitati-va la omul acesta, despre care toata multimea iudeilor m-a rugat in Ierusalim si aici, strigand ca nu trebuie sa mai traiasca. Fiindca am inteles ca n-a facut nimic vrednic de moarte si fiindca singur a cerut sa fie judecat de Cezar, am hotarat sa-l trimit. Eu n-am nimic temeinic de scris domnului meu cu privire la el; de aceea l-am adus inaintea voastra, si mai ales inaintea ta, imparate Agripa, ca, dupa ce se va face cercetarea, sa am ce scrie. Caci mi se pare fara rost sa trimit pe un intemnitat, fara sa arat de ce este parat". 43:11 Apoi, imparatul Agripa i-a dat voie lui Pavel sa vorbeasca in apararea sa. Apostolul nu s-a intimidat in fata pompei stralucitoare sau a rangului inalt al ascultatorilor sai; caci el stia de cat de mica insemnatate sunt bogatia si pozitia lumeasca. Fala si puterea pamanteasca nu puteau nici macar pentru o clipa sa-i slabeasca curajul sau sa-i rapeasca stapanirea de sine. 43:12 "Ma socotesc fericit, imparate Agripa", a declarat el, "ca ma apar astazi inaintea ta, pentru toate lucrurile de care sunt parat de Iudei; caci tu cunosti foarte bine toate obiceiurile si neintelegerile lor. De aceea te rog sa ma asculti cu ingaduinta". 43:13 Pavel a relatat istoria convertirii sale, de la incapatanata necredinta la credinta in Isus din Nazaret ca Mantuitor al lumii. El a descris vedenia cereasca ce, la inceput, il umpluse de o groaza de negrait, dar care, mai tarziu, s-a dovedit a fi un izvor de cea mai mare mangaiere - o descoperire a slavei dumnezeiesti, in mijlocul careia statea pe tron Acela pe care el Il dispretuise si-L urase si ai carui urmasi el cautase chiar sa-i nimiceasca. Din ceasul acela, Pavel fusese un om nou, un sincer si zelos credincios in Isus, ajuns aici prin harul transformator. 43:14 In mod clar si cu putere, Pavel a schitat inaintea lui Agripa evenimentele principale in legatura cu viata lui Hristos pe pamant. El a marturisit ca Mesia Cel profetizat a venit deja in persoana lui Isus din Nazaret. El a aratat cum Scripturile Vechiului Testament declarasera ca Mesia trebuia sa vina ca un om intre oameni; si cum in viata lui Isus se implinisera toate amanuntele aratate de Moise si profeti. Pentru a mantui o lume pierduta, divinul Fiu al lui Dumnezeu a suferit crucea, dispretuind rusinea, si S-a inaltat la cer biruitor asupra mortii si mormantului. 43:15 De ce, intreba Pavel, pare de necrezut ca Hristos sa fi fost inviat din morti? Candva, crezuse si el asa; dar cum ar putea sa nu creada ceea ce el insusi vazuse si auzise? La poarta Damascului, el insusi L-a privit pe Hristos Cel rastignit si inviat, Acelasi care umblase pe strazile Ierusalimului, care a murit la Golgota, a rupt legaturile mortii si S-a inaltat la cer. La fel ca si Chifa, Iacov, Ioan si alti ucenici, si el 43:16 L-a vazut si a vorbit cu El. Glasul ii poruncise sa vesteasca Evanghelia unui Mantuitor inviat, si cum ar fi putut el sa nu asculte? In Damasc, in Ierusalim, prin toata Iudea, cum si in regiunile indepartate, el daduse marturie despre Isus Cel rastignit, aratand tuturor claselor de oameni "sa se pocaiasca si sa se intoarca la Dumnezeu, si sa faca fapte vrednice de pocainta lor". 43:17 "Iata", a declarat apostolul, "de ce au pus Iudeii mana pe mine in Templu, si au cautat sa ma omoare. Dar, multumita ajutorului lui Dumnezeu, am ramas in viata pana in ziua aceasta; si am marturisit inaintea celor mici si celor mari, fara sa ma departez cu nimic de la ce au spus proorocii si Moise ca are sa se intample; si anume ca Hristosul trebuie sa patimeasca, si ca, dupa ce va fi cel dintai din invierea mortilor, va vesti lumina norodului si Neamurilor". 43:18 Toti cei adunati au ascultat ca fermecati istorisirea lui Pavel despre experientele lui minunate. Apostolul se ocupa de subiectele lui preferate. Nimeni din cei care il ascultau nu se putea indoi de sinceritatea sa. Dar, in plina desfasurare a vorbirii sale convingatoare, a fost intrerupt de Festus, care a strigat: "Pavele, esti nebun! Invatatura ta cea multa te face sa dai in nebunie". 43:19 Apostolul a raspuns: "Nu sunt nebun, prea alesule Festus; dimpotriva, rostesc cuvinte adevarate si chibzuite. Imparatul stie aceste lucruri si deoarece ii vorbesc cu indrazneala; caci sunt incredintat ca nu-i este nimic necunoscut din ele, fiindca nu s-au petrecut intr-un colt!" Apoi, intorcandu-se catre Agripa, i s-a adresat direct: "Crezi tu in Prooroci, imparate Agripa?" Stiu ca crezi". 43:20 Adanc miscat, pentru un moment Agripa a pierdut din vedere pe cei din jurul sau, cum si demnitatea pozitiei sale. Constient numai de adevarurile pe care le auzise, vazand numai pe umilul intemnitat stand inaintea lui ca trimis imputernicit al lui Dumnezeu, el a raspuns involuntar: "Curand mai vrei tu sa ma indupleci sa ma fac crestin!" 43:21 Cu multa seriozitate, apostolul a raspuns: "Sa dea Dumnezeu ca nu numai tu, ci toti cei ce ma asculta astazi, sa fiti asa cum sunt eu", adaugand, in timp ce-si ridica mainile ferecate in lanturi, "afara de lanturile acestea". 43:22 Festus, Agripa si Berenice pe buna dreptate ar fi putut purta lanturile care il legau pe apostol. Toti erau vinovati de crime grave. Acestor vinovati li se oferise in ziua aceea mantuirea prin numele lui Hristos. Unul, cel putin, fusese aproape convins sa primeasca harul si iertarea oferita. Insa Agripa respinsese indurarea oferita, nevoind sa primeasca crucea unui Rascumparator rastignit. 43:23 Curiozitatea imparatului fusese satisfacuta si, ridicandu-se de pe scaun, a dat sa se inteleaga ca intrevederea luase sfarsit. Pe cand cei ce luasera parte se imprastiau, ei vorbeau intre ei zicand: "Omul acesta n-a facut nimic vrednic de moarte sau de inchisoare". 43:24 Desi Agripa era iudeu, el nu impartasea zelul bigot si prejudecata oarba a Fariseilor. El a zis lui Festus: "Omului acestuia i s-ar fi putut da drumul, daca n-ar fi cerut sa fie judecat de Cezar". Insa cazul fusese deferit acestui cel mai inalt tribunal si acum el nu mai era sub jurisdictia nici a lui Festus, nici a lui Agripa. |

Special note for ANDROID SmartPhones
I recommend to download PhoneMe emulator for Android from here.
Especially I recommend phoneME Advanced - Foundation Profile + MIDP High Resolution b168 rev20547 from here, or from here.
Then you have to build your application, to transfer the .jar and .jad files on your mobile phone and run using this nice emulator.
1. Install a Zip Utility from Android Market.
2. Install a File Manager from Android Market.
3. Download and install PhoneMe, as mentioned above.
4. Build your application by using Download Multilingual Service or Dynamic Download (zip).
5. Copy the zip file into your Android Phone and unzip the content in a folder, and then write down the path to the unzipped files and the name of the .jad file.
6. Launch PhoneMe from your smartphone.
7. Inside PhoneMe, write to the main window the path and the name to the .jad file, above mentioned. Will look something like: file:///mnt/sd/download/BiblePhone.jad and then press enter.
8. The application will be installed, and next a hyperlink will be available below the above mentioned textbox. On this way you can install as many of MIDP application you like on your Android Phone.
How to install the application in Java Mobile enabled phones
It is possible now to have the Holy Scriptures on your mobile phone and to read
it wherever you are due to the Mobile Information Device Profile (MIDP)
technology in 1.0 and 2.0 versions, developed for Java applications.
A good advice is to try in the beginning the MIDP 1.0 / 128 Kbytes version, and
progressively to advance to MIDP 2.0 and larger volumes (512 Kbytes or more).
The application is available for MIDP 2.0, MIDP 1.0. You have only to select one
table on the field MIDP2.0 or MIDP1.0, according to the desired Bible version.
Then, you shall make a click on the JAR (Java Archive) file in order to obtain
the software to be installed on your mobile phone.
I recommend you to start with STARTER(MIDP1.0old) edition, then to continue with
INTERMEDIATE(MIDP1.0), and in the end, if the mobile phone supports this thing,
to try to install the ADVANCED (MIDP2.0) edition. Also, start with 128 kbytes
volumes, continue with 512 kbytes, and at the end try the version in one file.
There are cases where the mobile phone requires so called JAD (Java Descriptor)
files. These JAD files has to be
uploaded, on this case, together with the desired JAR files(s).
There are different methods to download the applications in your mobile phone as
follows:
1. Directly from Internet by using a WAP or GPRS connection
2. By using the infrared port of the mobile phone
3. By wireless Bluetooth access to the mobile phone
4. By cable link between PC ad mobile phone
5. If none from the above cases are valid
Next, we shall examine each case in order to have a successfully installation of
the software.
1. Directly from Internet by using a WAP or GPRS connection
If your have Internet access on your mobile phone (e.g. WAP or GPRS), it is
enough to access
https://biblephone.intercer.net/wap/ from the browser of the mobile phone,
and to access the desired Bible version, and then to make an option about
MIDP1.0 or MIDP2.0, and finally to select the desired module (e.g. one or more).
After the last selection, the desired version will be downloaded on your mobile
phone.
Many phones have only this option for installing JAVA appplications.
2. By using the infrared port of the mobile phone
Sometimes there is a need for a special uploader software for specific mobile
phones.
If you don't have access to Internet directly from your mobile phone, then you
shall have to pass to this step requiring to have infrared ports on your mobile
phone and on the computer.
a. On this case, you will download the application by using the computer from
the Internet (i.e. JAR files).
b. Once the application is downloaded (preferable on the desktop) you will have
to activate the infrared port on the mobile phone and align it with the infrared
port of the computer (preferable laptop).
c. Then a window will appear asking what file you want to send to the mobile
phone. Next, you will select the downloaded JAR file, and after OK, the mobile
phone will ask you if you want to load that file. You say YES and the
application will be downloaded on your mobile phone.
d. Probably, you will be asked by the mobile phone where you want to save it (e.g.
on the games or applications directories). After you made this selection, the
file will be ready to be loaded for run.
The displaying preference can be set inside the application in order to have
larger fonts, full screen display etc.
3. By wireless Bluetooth access to the mobile phone
Sometimes there is a need for a special uploader software for specific mobile
phones.
This situation is similar with the infrared case. You have only to activate
Bluetooth access on your mobile phone (check if exists) and on the computer (check
if exists).
4. By cable link between PC ad mobile phone
Sometimes there is a need for a special uploader software for specific
mobile phones.
On this case the steps are as follows:
a. On this case, you will download the application by using the computer from
the Internet (i.e. JAR files).
b. Once the application is downloaded (preferable on the desktop) you will have
to set up the wired connection between the mobile phone and the computer. Next,
you will start the synchronization / data transfer application and download the
JAR file in your mobile phone. Surely, you will have to consult the CD of your
mobile phone.
c. By this application you shall transfer into your mobile phone the JAR file in
the games or applications directories. Next, you will have to select for run the
JAR desired file.
5. If none from the above cases are valid
On this unhappy case, I recommend you to find a friend with a laptop having
infrared / Bluetooth capabilities, or to buy a data link cable, or to change
your current model of mobile phone.
Unfortunately, some models of mobile phones require only WAP/GPRS in order to
download and run Java applications.
Sometimes there is a need for a special uploader software for specific mobile
phones. Therefore check the documentation of them and also the page for specific
models.
Why so many versions? Simple, because not all the mobile phones support the
Bible in one file with MIDP 2.0 (the most advanced for the time being).
