20:1 Cand vei merge la razboi impotriva vrajmasilor tai, si vei vedea cai si care, si un popor mai mare la numar decat tine, sa nu te temi de ei, caci Domnul, Dumnezeul tau, care te-a scos din tara Egiptului, este cu tine. Cai si care. Canaanitii aveau un mare numar de care (Iosua 11,4; Judecatori 4,3). Ostirea lui Israel era alcatuita din infanteristi. Ei nu si-au pierdut niciodata teama de carele inarmate (Iosua 17,16; Judecatori 1,19; 4,3; 1 Samuel 13,5,6). Abia in timpul lui David au avut si ei carele lor (2 Samuel 8,4). Sa nu te temi. Iehova ii scosese din Egipt. El avea sa fie cu ei in greutatile luptei care le sta in fata (Psalmi 20,6-8). Dumnezeul tau... este cu tine. Pentru aceeasi fagaduinta data in alte imprejurari vezi cap. 1,30,42; 7,21. Compara cu solia lui Isaia catre Ahaz in conflictul lui cu Rezin si Peca (Isaia 7,4-14; 8,8.10). 20:2 La apropierea luptei, preotul sa vina si sa vorbeasca poporului. Preotul sa vina. Vezi Numeri 31,6; 2 Cronici 13,12. Pentru chivotul luat pe campia de lupta, vezi 1 Samuel 4,4.5 (compara cu 2 Samuel 11,11), si pentru o jertfa adusa lui Dumnezeu pentru victorie in batalie, vezi 1 Samuel 7,9; compara cu 1 Samuel 13,9-13. 20:3 Sa le spuna: Asculta, Israele! Voi astazi sunteti aproape de lupta impotriva vrajmasilor vostri. Sa nu vi se tulbure inima, fiti fara teama, nu va spaimantati, nu va ingroziti dinaintea lor. Turbure. Mai bine ,,moaie”, ,,a fi plapanda”, ,,a fi slaba”. Pentru alte intrebuintari ale cuvantului tradus ,,turbure” vezi 2 Regi 22,19; Psalmi 55,21; Isaia 1,6. 20:4 Caci Domnul, Dumnezeul vostru, merge cu voi, ca sa bata pe vrajmasii vostri, ca sa va mantuiasca. Domnul Dumnezeul vostru. Compara cu increderea lui David (1 Samuel 17,45; Psalmi 20,7). Adesea jertfele erau aduse lui Dumnezeu la inceputul campaniei cu scopul de a invoca prezenta Sa. In marea lupta de pe urma, de inaintea celei de a doua veniri a lui Hristos, Iehova este reprezentat ca fiind prezent in persoana pentru a duce lupta (vezi Isaia 13,6-14; Ioel 3,9-21; Apocalipsa 16,14-16; 19,11-16). 20:5 Mai marii ostirii sa vorbeasca apoi poporului si sa zica: Cine a zidit o casa noua, si nu s-a asezat inca in ea, sa plece si sa se intoarca acasa, ca sa nu moara in lupta si sa se aseze altul in ea. Mai marii. Acelasi cuvant tradus aici ,,mai mari” se afla in Exod 5,6.10.14.15.19; Numeri 11,16; Deutronom 1,15; 16,18; Iosua 1,10, etc., si ca ,,priveghetor” in Proverbe 6,7. Acesti barbati erau magistrati civili, pentru ca ostirea lui Israel nu era o grupare de soldati profesionisti. Nu s-a asezat. (consacrat, in engleza) Verbul astfel tradus (consacrat n.trad.) este folosit pentru a consacrarea unui altar (Numeri 7,10) si a sanctuarului (1 Regi 8,63; 2 Cronici 7,5). In acest verset, pentru o casa particulara. 20:6 Cine a sadit o vie, si n-a mancat inca din ea, sa plece si sa se intoarca acasa, ca sa nu moara in lupta si sa manance altul din ea. N-a mancat inca din ea. Proprietarul nu putea sa manance legal rodul unei vii in timpul primilor trei ani dupa plantare (Levitic 19,23; etc.). In al patrulea an el putea sa aduca roadele la Ierusalim si sa le manance ca dar de multumire (Levitic 19,24). Dar in anul al cincilea roadele erau ale lui (Levitic 19,25). 20:7 Cine s-a logodit cu o femeie, si n-a luat-o inca, sa plece si sa se intoarca acasa, ca sa nu moara in lupta si s-o ia altul. S-a logodit cu o femeie. Aceasta scutire era un act de atentie, asa ca omul sa nu moara fara sa aiba copii care sa perpetueze numele si interesele lui. Scutirea aceasta dura un an (cap. 24,5). Cele trei scutiri inserate in versetele 5-7 nu puteau sa aiba un efect folositor asupra economiei natiunii. Ele erau o importanta usurare a nesigurantei si a extrem de tulburatoarelor efecte ale razboiului asupra intregii vieti a poporului. 20:8 Mai marii ostirii sa vorbeasca mai departe poporului, si sa spuna: Cine este fricos si slab la inima, sa plece si sa se intoarca acasa, ca sa nu inmoaie inima fratilor lui. Fricos si slab la inima. Se simtea necesar a ocroti ostirea de spiritul molipsitor al lasitatii. Este de asemenea necesar a se mentine un inalt nivel de curaj in lupta crestina. Biruintele se castiga prin disciplina, curaj, devotiune fata de datorie si un spirit de sacrificiu de sine (Luca 14,26.27; Galateni 6,9). 20:9 Dupa ce mai marii ostirii vor ispravi de vorbit poporului, sa aseze pe capeteniile ostirii in fruntea poporului. Capeteniile. Referindu-se la slujbasii care aveau comanda peste grupele de mii, de sute, de cincizeci (vezi Numeri 31,14.48; 1 Samuel 8,12; 22,7; 2 Samuel 18,1). Numarul singular de capitan al ,,ostirii” este folosit spre a-l desemna pe comandantul sef al armatei intregi (Geneza 21,22; 2 Samuel 2,8; 1 Regi 16,16). 20:10 Cand te vei apropia de o cetate ca sa te bati impotriva ei, s-o imbii cu pace. Imbii cu pace. Insemnand conditii de supunere. Vezi propunerile de negociere facute de Ben-Hadad al Siriei lui Ahab, regele lui Israel (1 Regi 20,1-6), si de reprezentantul regelui Asiriei lui Ezechia, regele lui Iuda (2 Regi 18,17-37). 20:11 Daca primeste pacea si-ti deschide portile, tot poporul care se va afla in ea sa-ti dea bir si sa-ti fie supus. Sa-ti dea bir. Cuvantul tradus astfel este un substantiv colectiv care indica un corp de lucratori pentru munca fortata (vezi RVS). Imparatul Solomon a strans astfel de oameni din popor, vreo 30.000 (1 Regi 5,13) pentru a fi trimisi in Liban (1 Regi 5,14; compara cu 1 Regi 9,15.20.21; 12,18; 2 Cronici 10,18). In Isaia 31,8 acelasi cuvant este tradus ,,robiti”. 20:12 Daca nu primeste pacea cu tine si vrea sa faca razboi cu tine, atunci s-o impresori. Nu primeste pacea. O respingere a ofertei de pace era privita ca o declaratie de razboi si era urmata de inceperea ostilitatilor. 20:13 Si dupa ce Domnul, Dumnezeul tau, o va da in mainile tale, sa treci prin ascutisul sabiei pe toti cei de parte barbateasca. Prin ascutisul sabiei... cei de parte barbateasca. Respingerea ofertei de pace era expresia unei hotarari de a continua inchinarea la idoli, cu toate imoralitatile prezente. Coruptia morala si totala stricaciune a locuitorilor cetatilor idolatre facea inevitabila nimicirea lor daca refuzau sa primeasca pe Dumnezeu si sa intoarca spatele idolatriei. 20:14 Dar sa iei pentru tine nevestele, copiii, vitele, si tot ce va mai fi in cetate, toata prada, si sa mananci toata prada vrajmasilor tai, pe care ti-i va da in mana Domnul, Dumnezeul tau. Prada. Metale pretioase, imbracaminte, stocuri de hrana si tot felul de bunuri de gospodarie (vezi cap. 2,35). 20:15 Asa sa faci cu toate cetatile care vor fi foarte departe de tine, si care nu fac parte din cetatile neamurilor acestora. Verset ce nu a fost comentat. 20:16 Dar in cetatile popoarelor acestora, a caror tara ti-o da ca mostenire Domnul, Dumnezeul tau, sa nu lasi cu viata nimic care sufla. Cetatile. Referindu-se special la cetatile Canaanului. Lor nu trebuia sa li se faca nici o oferta de pace. Dumnezeu daduse mai inainte instructiuni severe in privinta crutarii vreuneia dintre ele (Exod 23,31-33; 34,11-16). A fost luata orice precautie pentru a ocroti pe Israel de formele degradante ale idolatriei practicate de canaaniti. Despre uraciunea acestor popoare vezi Levitic 18,24-28; 20,23. 20:17 Ci sa nimicesti cu desavarsire popoarele acelea, pe Hetiti, pe Amoriti, pe Canaaniti, pe Fereziti, pe Heviti, si Iebusiti, cum ti-a poruncit Domnul, Dumnezeul tau, Nimicesti cu desavarsire. Literal, ,,consacrat”, adica dat nimicirii. Hetitii. Compara cu Deutronom 7,1 si Iosua 24,11, unde sunt enumerate sapte natiuni, nu sase. Aici sunt omisi ghirgasitii. Cum ti-a poruncit. Vezi cap. 7,2; compara cu instructiunile raportate in Exod 23,31-33. 20:18 ca sa nu va invete sa faceti dupa toate uraciunile pe care le fac ele pentru dumnezeii lor, si sa pacatuiti astfel impotriva Domnului, Dumnezeului vostru. Uraciunile. Acestea indica spre motivul suprem al masurilor severe luate. Marea rautate imbinata cu respingerea harului cerea judecata (vezi cap. 7,26; 12,31). Cand ,,nelegiuirea amoritilor” s-a umplut, judecata a venit (vezi Geneza 15,16; 1 Regi 21,26). 20:19 Daca vei impresura multe zile o cetate cu care esti in razboi, ca s-o cuceresti, pomii sa nu-i strici, taindu-i cu securea; sa mananci din ei si sa nu-i tai; caci pomul de pe camp este oare un om ca sa fie nimicit prin impresurare de tine? Pomii. Pomii fructiferi aveau sa dea reinviorare si intretinere. Ei nu puteau creste intr-o zi. Pomul de pe camp. Compara cu 1 Samuel 16,20, care literal se citeste ,,un magar de paine”, care inseamna un magar incarcat cu paine. Tot asa, despre pomii fructiferi se spune ca fiind pentru intretinerea oamenilor. In RSV citim: ,,Sunt oare pomii de pe camp oameni ca sa fie interesati de tine?” 20:20 Numai copacii pe care-i vei sti ca nu sunt pomi buni de mancat, vei putea sa-i strici si sa-i tai, si vei putea sa faci cu ei intarituri impotriva cetatii care este in razboi cu tine, pana va cadea. De mancat. Literal, ,,pentru hrana”. Intarituri. Literal, ,,lucrari de asediere” (RSV). Referirea este la diferitele ziduri de aparare, transee, etc., construite pentru a ajuta la supunerea cetatii. Acelasi cuvant este tradus ,,intarit” (2 Cronici 8,5); ,,intarite” (2 Cronici 11,5); ,,fortareata” (Ieremia 10,17); ,,fortificat” (Mica 7,12); ,,turn” (Habacuc 2,1; compara cu 2 Cronici 26,15; 2 Samuel 20,15). Special note for ANDROID SmartPhones
I recommend to download PhoneMe emulator for Android from here.
Especially I recommend phoneME Advanced - Foundation Profile + MIDP High Resolution b168 rev20547 from here, or from here.
Then you have to build your application, to transfer the .jar and .jad files on your mobile phone and run using this nice emulator.
1. Install a Zip Utility from Android Market.
2. Install a File Manager from Android Market.
3. Download and install PhoneMe, as mentioned above.
4. Build your application by using Download Multilingual Service or Dynamic Download (zip).
5. Copy the zip file into your Android Phone and unzip the content in a folder, and then write down the path to the unzipped files and the name of the .jad file.
6. Launch PhoneMe from your smartphone.
7. Inside PhoneMe, write to the main window the path and the name to the .jad file, above mentioned. Will look something like: file:///mnt/sd/download/BiblePhone.jad and then press enter.
8. The application will be installed, and next a hyperlink will be available below the above mentioned textbox. On this way you can install as many of MIDP application you like on your Android Phone.
How to install the application in Java Mobile enabled phones
It is possible now to have the Holy Scriptures on your mobile phone and to read
it wherever you are due to the Mobile Information Device Profile (MIDP)
technology in 1.0 and 2.0 versions, developed for Java applications.
A good advice is to try in the beginning the MIDP 1.0 / 128 Kbytes version, and
progressively to advance to MIDP 2.0 and larger volumes (512 Kbytes or more).
The application is available for MIDP 2.0, MIDP 1.0. You have only to select one
table on the field MIDP2.0 or MIDP1.0, according to the desired Bible version.
Then, you shall make a click on the JAR (Java Archive) file in order to obtain
the software to be installed on your mobile phone.
I recommend you to start with STARTER(MIDP1.0old) edition, then to continue with
INTERMEDIATE(MIDP1.0), and in the end, if the mobile phone supports this thing,
to try to install the ADVANCED (MIDP2.0) edition. Also, start with 128 kbytes
volumes, continue with 512 kbytes, and at the end try the version in one file.
There are cases where the mobile phone requires so called JAD (Java Descriptor)
files. These JAD files has to be
uploaded, on this case, together with the desired JAR files(s).
There are different methods to download the applications in your mobile phone as
follows:
1. Directly from Internet by using a WAP or GPRS connection
2. By using the infrared port of the mobile phone
3. By wireless Bluetooth access to the mobile phone
4. By cable link between PC ad mobile phone
5. If none from the above cases are valid
Next, we shall examine each case in order to have a successfully installation of
the software.
1. Directly from Internet by using a WAP or GPRS connection
If your have Internet access on your mobile phone (e.g. WAP or GPRS), it is
enough to access
https://biblephone.intercer.net/wap/ from the browser of the mobile phone,
and to access the desired Bible version, and then to make an option about
MIDP1.0 or MIDP2.0, and finally to select the desired module (e.g. one or more).
After the last selection, the desired version will be downloaded on your mobile
phone.
Many phones have only this option for installing JAVA appplications.
2. By using the infrared port of the mobile phone
Sometimes there is a need for a special uploader software for specific mobile
phones.
If you don't have access to Internet directly from your mobile phone, then you
shall have to pass to this step requiring to have infrared ports on your mobile
phone and on the computer.
a. On this case, you will download the application by using the computer from
the Internet (i.e. JAR files).
b. Once the application is downloaded (preferable on the desktop) you will have
to activate the infrared port on the mobile phone and align it with the infrared
port of the computer (preferable laptop).
c. Then a window will appear asking what file you want to send to the mobile
phone. Next, you will select the downloaded JAR file, and after OK, the mobile
phone will ask you if you want to load that file. You say YES and the
application will be downloaded on your mobile phone.
d. Probably, you will be asked by the mobile phone where you want to save it (e.g.
on the games or applications directories). After you made this selection, the
file will be ready to be loaded for run.
The displaying preference can be set inside the application in order to have
larger fonts, full screen display etc.
3. By wireless Bluetooth access to the mobile phone
Sometimes there is a need for a special uploader software for specific mobile
phones.
This situation is similar with the infrared case. You have only to activate
Bluetooth access on your mobile phone (check if exists) and on the computer (check
if exists).
4. By cable link between PC ad mobile phone
Sometimes there is a need for a special uploader software for specific
mobile phones.
On this case the steps are as follows:
a. On this case, you will download the application by using the computer from
the Internet (i.e. JAR files).
b. Once the application is downloaded (preferable on the desktop) you will have
to set up the wired connection between the mobile phone and the computer. Next,
you will start the synchronization / data transfer application and download the
JAR file in your mobile phone. Surely, you will have to consult the CD of your
mobile phone.
c. By this application you shall transfer into your mobile phone the JAR file in
the games or applications directories. Next, you will have to select for run the
JAR desired file.
5. If none from the above cases are valid
On this unhappy case, I recommend you to find a friend with a laptop having
infrared / Bluetooth capabilities, or to buy a data link cable, or to change
your current model of mobile phone.
Unfortunately, some models of mobile phones require only WAP/GPRS in order to
download and run Java applications.
Sometimes there is a need for a special uploader software for specific mobile
phones. Therefore check the documentation of them and also the page for specific
models.
Why so many versions? Simple, because not all the mobile phones support the
Bible in one file with MIDP 2.0 (the most advanced for the time being).
