10:1 2. INFLUENŢA POLUANTĂ ŞI DEMORALIZATOARE A TUTUNULUI 10:2 Întâlnim peste tot. - Oriunde mergem, dăm de fideli ai tutunului, care îşi slăbesc şi mintea şi trupul prin îngăduirea acestui viciu. Au oamenii dreptul să-L priveze pe Făcătorul lor şi pe semeni de slujirea care le stă în datorie?... 10:3 Este un obicei respingător, care-l întinează pe cel ce foloseşte tutunul şi care este foarte deranjant pentru cei din jur. Arareori trecem prin mulţime fără ca unii oameni să nu ne sufle respiraţia lor otrăvită în faţă. Este neplăcut, ba chiar periculos, să stai într-un vagon de tren sau în vreo încăpere în care aerul este impregnat cu fum de tutun şi aburi de alcool. - Christian Temperance and Bible Hygiene, pag. 33, 34. 10:4 Blestemă şi ucide. - Femei şi copii suferă fiind nevoiţi să respire aerul care a fost poluat de pipa, ţigara sau respiraţia rea a fumătorului. Cei care trăiesc într-o astfel de atmosferă vor fi tot timpul suferinzi. - Testimonies, vol.5, pag. 440. 10:5 Plămânii copilului suferă şi se îmbolnăvesc inhalând aerul unei camere otrăvite de respiraţia infectă a celui care foloseşte tutun. Mulţi copii sunt otrăviţi peste limita remediului, dormind în pat cu taţii lor fumători. Inhalând miasmele otrăvitoare ale tutunului venite din 10:6 plămânii şi porii pielii fumătorului, organismul copilului este umplut cu otravă. Dacă asupra unor copii acţionează ca o otravă lentă, afectându-le creierul, inima, ficatul şi plămânii, iar ei se dezechilibrează şi se ofilesc, asupra altora are o influenţă mai directă, provocându-le spasme, crize, paralizie şi moarte subită. 10:7 Părinţii îndureraţi plâng pierderea celor dragi şi se miră de misterioasa providenţă a lui Dumnezeu, care i-a lovit atât de nemilos, când ea nu doreşte moartea acestor micuţi. Dar copiii au murit ca martiri ai ticălosului gust pentru tutun. Fiecare expiraţie a plămânilor sclavului tutunului otrăveşte aerul în jurul lui. - Health Reformer, ianuarie 1872. 10:8 Un factor în proliferarea crimei. - Folosirea tutunului şi a băuturilor tari are o mare implicaţie în amploarea luată de boli şi crimă. - Manuscris 29, 1886. 10:9 Folosirea alcoolului sau a tutunului distruge nervii sensibili ai creierului şi amorţeşte simţurile. Sub influenţa acestora sunt comise crime care nu s-ar fi petrecut, dacă mintea ar fi fost limpede şi liberă de influenţa stimulentelor sau a narcoticelor. - Manuscris 38 1/2, 1905. 10:10 Satana stăpâneşte mintea paralizată. - Mii de oameni îşi vând într-una vigoarea fizică, mintală şi morală pentru plăcerea gustului. Fiecare capacitate a omului are funcţia ei distinctivă, dar toate au o mutuală dependenţă. Şi dacă echilibrul lor este păstrat cu grijă, acestea vor fi menţinute într-o activitate armonioasă. Nici una dintre aceste capacităţi nu poate fi evaluată în bani. Şi totuşi, ele sunt vândute pe o cină copioasă, pe alcool sau pe tutun. Iar când mintea este paralizată de îngăduirea apetitului, Satana o controlează şi conduce la orice fel de nelegiuire şi răutate. - Review and Herald, 18 martie 1875. 10:11 Femeile fumează! - Dumnezeu interzice ca femeia să se coboare la uzul mizerului şi năucitorului narcotic. Cât este de respingătoare imaginea unei femei a cărei respiraţie este otrăvită de tutun! 10:12 Este "înfiorător să te gândeşti la nişte copii mici care-şi împreună mâinile după gâtul mamei şi-şi apasă buzele lor fragede şi pure pe buzele ei stigmatizate şi pângărite de frunzele şi miasmele tutunului. Imaginea este cu atât mai revoltătoare cu cât cazului este mai rar decât cel al tatălui, domnul casei, care se pângăreşte cu dezgustătoarea buruiană. Nu-i de mirare că vedem copii evitând sărutul tatălui lor, pe care-l iubesc şi căutându-i, atunci când îl sărută ei, nu buzele, ci obrazul sau fruntea, unde buzele lor pure nu pot fi contaminate. - Health Reformer, septembrie 1877. 10:13 Singura cale sigură. - Multe sunt ispitele şi ocaziile aflate la orice pas de a distruge perspectivele tinerilor atât pentru lumea aceasta, cât şi pentru cea viitoare. Dar singura cale a siguranţei este, atât pentru tineri, cât şi pentru bătrâni, trăirea în strictă conformitate cu principiile legii fizice şi morale. Calea ascultării este singura cale ce duce la cer. Adepţii alcoolului şi tutunului ar da uneori oricât pentru a putea să-şi biruie apetitul pentru aceste obiceiuri distrugătoare de trup şi suflet. Cei care nu-şi vor stăpâni poftele şi pasiunile sub controlul raţiunii, şi le vor îngădui cu cheltuirea sănătăţii fizice şi morale. - Review and Herald, 18 martie 1875. 10:14 Puterea înrobitoare a tutunului. - Fixând în oameni teribilul obicei al folosirii tutunului, scopul lui Satana este acela de a le paraliza creierul şi de a le încurca judecata astfel încât lucrurile sfinte să nu mai fie distinse. Odată format gustul pentru el, acest narcotic pune stăpânire pe mintea şi voinţa omului, care devine sclav al puterii lui. Satana are controlul voinţei acestuia şi realităţile veşnice sunt eclipsate. Omul nu poate rămâne ferm în starea dată de Dumnezeu; el este un sclav al apetitului pervertit. - Scrisoarea 8, 1893. 10:15 Cei care pretind că tutunul nu le face rău pot fi convinşi de greşeala 10:16 lor, dacă sunt lipsiţi de acest drog pentru câteva zile; tremurul nervos, capul greu, irascibilitatea pe care o simt le vor dovedi că acest obicei păcătos i-a legat în robie, depăşindu-le puterea voinţei. Ei se află în sclavia unui viciu îngrozitor, prin consecinţele lui. - Signs of the Times, 27 octombrie 1887. 10:17 Mărturia celor care au biruit. - Pe când vorbeam, am cerut odată să se ridice aceia care au fost fumători, dar au întrerupt total obiceiul, datorită luminii primite o dată cu adevărul. Drept răspuns, s-au ridicat în picioare între 35 şi 40 de persoane, dintre care 10 sau 12 erau femei. Apoi i-am invitat să se ridice pe aceia cărora li s-a spus de către medici că ar fi fatal pentru ei să întrerupă folosirea tutunului, deoarece au devenit atât de dependenţi de falsul stimulent al acestuia, încât n-ar putea trăi fără el. S-au ridicat în picioare opt persoane a căror înfăţişare indica sănătate a trupului şi minţii. - Review and Herald, 23 august 1877. 10:18 Avertizare împotriva încumetării. - Părinţi, avertizaţi-vă copiii împotriva păcatului încumetării. Spuneţi-le că este o încumetare să-şi educe gustul pentru tutun, alcool sau orice lucru dăunător. Învăţaţi-i că trupurile lor sunt proprietatea lui Dumnezeu. Ei sunt ai Lui prin creaţiune şi prin răscumpărare. Ei nu-şi aparţin lor înşişi, pentru că au fost cumpăraţi cu un preţ. Spuneţi-le că trupul este templul lui Dumnezeu şi nu trebuie slăbit şi îmbolnăvit prin îngăduirea apetitului. Nu Domnul a creat boala şi debilitatea care se văd acum în trupul şi mintea rasei umane. Vrăjmaşul a făcut lucrul acesta. El doreşte să slăbească organismul, ştiind că acesta este singurul prin care mintea şi sufletul pot fi desăvârşite pentru clădirea unui caracter echilibrat. Obiceiurile care sunt împotriva legilor naturii luptă continuu împotriva sufletului. 10:19 Dumnezeu te cheamă să faci o lucrare pe care, prin harul Lui, o poţi împlini. Cât de multe trupuri pot fi prezentate lui Dumnezeu ca jertfă şi pe care El să le primească în slujba Lui? Câţi se păstrează ferm în condiţia în care i-a creat Dumnezeu? Cât de mulţi pot dovedi o puritate a gusturilor şi obiceiurilor care să poată fi comparată cu cea a lui Daniel? Special note for ANDROID SmartPhones
I recommend to download PhoneMe emulator for Android from here.
Especially I recommend phoneME Advanced - Foundation Profile + MIDP High Resolution b168 rev20547 from here, or from here.
Then you have to build your application, to transfer the .jar and .jad files on your mobile phone and run using this nice emulator.
1. Install a Zip Utility from Android Market.
2. Install a File Manager from Android Market.
3. Download and install PhoneMe, as mentioned above.
4. Build your application by using Download Multilingual Service or Dynamic Download (zip).
5. Copy the zip file into your Android Phone and unzip the content in a folder, and then write down the path to the unzipped files and the name of the .jad file.
6. Launch PhoneMe from your smartphone.
7. Inside PhoneMe, write to the main window the path and the name to the .jad file, above mentioned. Will look something like: file:///mnt/sd/download/BiblePhone.jad and then press enter.
8. The application will be installed, and next a hyperlink will be available below the above mentioned textbox. On this way you can install as many of MIDP application you like on your Android Phone.
How to install the application in Java Mobile enabled phones
It is possible now to have the Holy Scriptures on your mobile phone and to read
it wherever you are due to the Mobile Information Device Profile (MIDP)
technology in 1.0 and 2.0 versions, developed for Java applications.
A good advice is to try in the beginning the MIDP 1.0 / 128 Kbytes version, and
progressively to advance to MIDP 2.0 and larger volumes (512 Kbytes or more).
The application is available for MIDP 2.0, MIDP 1.0. You have only to select one
table on the field MIDP2.0 or MIDP1.0, according to the desired Bible version.
Then, you shall make a click on the JAR (Java Archive) file in order to obtain
the software to be installed on your mobile phone.
I recommend you to start with STARTER(MIDP1.0old) edition, then to continue with
INTERMEDIATE(MIDP1.0), and in the end, if the mobile phone supports this thing,
to try to install the ADVANCED (MIDP2.0) edition. Also, start with 128 kbytes
volumes, continue with 512 kbytes, and at the end try the version in one file.
There are cases where the mobile phone requires so called JAD (Java Descriptor)
files. These JAD files has to be
uploaded, on this case, together with the desired JAR files(s).
There are different methods to download the applications in your mobile phone as
follows:
1. Directly from Internet by using a WAP or GPRS connection
2. By using the infrared port of the mobile phone
3. By wireless Bluetooth access to the mobile phone
4. By cable link between PC ad mobile phone
5. If none from the above cases are valid
Next, we shall examine each case in order to have a successfully installation of
the software.
1. Directly from Internet by using a WAP or GPRS connection
If your have Internet access on your mobile phone (e.g. WAP or GPRS), it is
enough to access
https://biblephone.intercer.net/wap/ from the browser of the mobile phone,
and to access the desired Bible version, and then to make an option about
MIDP1.0 or MIDP2.0, and finally to select the desired module (e.g. one or more).
After the last selection, the desired version will be downloaded on your mobile
phone.
Many phones have only this option for installing JAVA appplications.
2. By using the infrared port of the mobile phone
Sometimes there is a need for a special uploader software for specific mobile
phones.
If you don't have access to Internet directly from your mobile phone, then you
shall have to pass to this step requiring to have infrared ports on your mobile
phone and on the computer.
a. On this case, you will download the application by using the computer from
the Internet (i.e. JAR files).
b. Once the application is downloaded (preferable on the desktop) you will have
to activate the infrared port on the mobile phone and align it with the infrared
port of the computer (preferable laptop).
c. Then a window will appear asking what file you want to send to the mobile
phone. Next, you will select the downloaded JAR file, and after OK, the mobile
phone will ask you if you want to load that file. You say YES and the
application will be downloaded on your mobile phone.
d. Probably, you will be asked by the mobile phone where you want to save it (e.g.
on the games or applications directories). After you made this selection, the
file will be ready to be loaded for run.
The displaying preference can be set inside the application in order to have
larger fonts, full screen display etc.
3. By wireless Bluetooth access to the mobile phone
Sometimes there is a need for a special uploader software for specific mobile
phones.
This situation is similar with the infrared case. You have only to activate
Bluetooth access on your mobile phone (check if exists) and on the computer (check
if exists).
4. By cable link between PC ad mobile phone
Sometimes there is a need for a special uploader software for specific
mobile phones.
On this case the steps are as follows:
a. On this case, you will download the application by using the computer from
the Internet (i.e. JAR files).
b. Once the application is downloaded (preferable on the desktop) you will have
to set up the wired connection between the mobile phone and the computer. Next,
you will start the synchronization / data transfer application and download the
JAR file in your mobile phone. Surely, you will have to consult the CD of your
mobile phone.
c. By this application you shall transfer into your mobile phone the JAR file in
the games or applications directories. Next, you will have to select for run the
JAR desired file.
5. If none from the above cases are valid
On this unhappy case, I recommend you to find a friend with a laptop having
infrared / Bluetooth capabilities, or to buy a data link cable, or to change
your current model of mobile phone.
Unfortunately, some models of mobile phones require only WAP/GPRS in order to
download and run Java applications.
Sometimes there is a need for a special uploader software for specific mobile
phones. Therefore check the documentation of them and also the page for specific
models.
Why so many versions? Simple, because not all the mobile phones support the
Bible in one file with MIDP 2.0 (the most advanced for the time being).
