18:1 După aceea, David a bătut pe Filisteni şi i-a smerit, şi a luat din mâna Filistenilor Gatul şi satele lui. După aceea. Versetele 1-13 se ocupă de cuceririle lui David. Vezi şi la 2 Samuel 8,1-14. Cuvintele "după aceea" nu arată neapărat că evenimentele pe cale să fie povestite au urmat toate, în ordine cronologică, după evenimentele prezentate anterior. Ordinea în care evenimentele se găsesc raportate în Biblie nu este întotdeauna exact aceea în care au avut loc. Atât 2 Samuel 8, cât şi 1 Cronici 18 par să conţină o trecere în revistă a diferitelor cuceriri ale lui David, începând cu Filistia şi Moab, dar enumără de asemenea prăzile şi tributul obţinut de la diferite state siriene, care au fost supuse în războiul declanşat după moartea lui Nahaş, împăratul fiilor lui Amon (vezi 1 Cronici 19). Gatul. Raportul din Samuel foloseşte cuvântul "Metheg-ammah" (KJV), pe care unii îl interpretează ca însemnând "binele cetăţii mame" ["cârmuirea capitalei lor", trd. Cornil.] (vezi la 2 Samuel 8,1). Potrivit textului acesteia, David a pus stăpânire pe cetatea mamă, metropola filistenilor, care, potrivit raportului din 1 Cronici, era Gatul. Vezi imaginea următoare 18:2 A bătut pe Moabiţi, şi Moabiţii au fost supuşi lui David şi i-au plătit un bir. A bătut pe Moabiţi. [Moabul, KJV]. Compară cu 2 Samuel 8,2. 18:3 David a bătut pe Hadarezer, împăratul Ţobei, spre Hamat, când s-a dus să-şi aşeze stăpânirea peste râul Eufratului. Ţobei, spre Hamat. Ţoba era un regat arameu la vest de Eufrat, la nord-est de Damasc şi la sud de Hamat. A înflorit pe vremea lui Saul, David şi Solomon (vezi 1 Samuel 14,47; 2 Samuel 8,3; 2 Cronici 8,3). Să-şi aşeze stăpânirea. "Să-şi aşeze iarăşi stăpânirea" (vezi la 2 Samuel 8,3). Eufratului. Afirmaţia de aici e o dovadă că David exercita o oarecare stăpânire până la Eufrat. Lucrul acesta este sprijinit şi de faptul că printre aliaţii sirieni înfrânţi erau aramei de la est de Eufrat (vezi la cap. 19,16,19). 18:4 David i-a luat o mie de care, şapte mii de călăreţi, şi două zeci de mii de pedestraşi; a tăiat vinele tuturor cailor de trăsuri, şi n-a păstrat decât o sută de care. Şapte mii de călăreţi. Pasajul paralel spune "o mie şapte sute de călăreţi" (2 Samuel 8,4). LXX spune "şapte mii" în ambele cazuri (vezi p. 122, 123). A tăiat vinele. Adică a tăiat încheietura genunchiului. Era practica de a tăia tendoanele picioarelor dinapoi ca să scoată caii din luptă (vezi Iosua 11,6-9). 18:5 Sirienii din Damasc au venit în ajutorul lui Hadarezer, împăratul Ţobei, şi David a bătut douăzeci şi două de mii de Sirieni. Verset ce nu a fost comentat. 18:6 David a pus o strajă de oşti în Siria Damascului. Şi Sirienii au fost supuşi lui David, şi i-au plătit bir. Domnul ocrotea pe David oriunde mergea. Strajă de oşti. [Garnizoane, KJV]. Cuvântul pentru "garnizoană" nu e prezent în textul ebraic al Cronicilor, dar se găseşte în 2 Samuel 8,6, precum şi în LXX, versiunea siriacă şi targumii Cronicilor. 18:7 Şi David a luat scuturile de aur pe care le aveau slujitorii lui Hadarezer, şi le-a adus la Ierusalim. Verset ce nu a fost comentat. 18:8 David a mai luat multă aramă din Tibhat şi din Cun, cetăţile lui Hadarezer. Solomon a făcut din ea marea de aramă, stâlpii şi uneltele de aramă. Aramă. De fapt cupru sau bronz (vezi la 1 Regi 7,47). Metalul acesta era foarte obişnuit în vremurile străvechi, în Asia de apus. Capitolul acesta, ca şi corespondentul lui, 2 Samuel 8, se ocupă mai puţin de prezentarea cuceririlor, cât de enumerarea prăzilor şi tributurilor pe care David le-a obţinut şi le-a pus deoparte pentru viitorul templu (vezi la v. 11). Marea de aramă. Vezi la 1 Regi 7,15-26.45; 2 Cronici 4,2-5,10.15.18. 18:9 Tohu, împăratul Hamatului, a auzit că David bătuse toată oştirea lui Hadarezer, împăratul Ţobei, Verset ce nu a fost comentat. 18:10 şi a trimis pe fiul său Hadoram la împăratul David să-i ureze de bine, şi să-l laude că a luptat împotriva lui Hadarezer şi l-a bătut. Căci Tohu era în război cu Hadarezer. A trimis de asemenea tot felul de vase de aur, de argint şi de aramă. Hadoram. Sau Ioram (2 Samuel 8,10). 18:11 Împăratul David le-a închinat Domnului, împreună cu argintul şi aurul pe care-l luase de la toate popoarele, de la Edom, de la Moab, de la fiii lui Amon, de la Filisteni şi de la Amalec. David le-a închinat. Versetul acesta recapitulează sursele de bogăţii pe care David le-a pus deoparte pentru templu. Cuceririle lui par să fie recapitulate aici cu scopul acesta. Sunt menţionate popoare a căror cucerire nu este raportată decât în cap. 19. 18:12 Abişai, fiul Ţeruiei, a bătut în Valea Sării optsprezece mii de Edomiţi. Edomiţii. În Samuel versetul acesta zice: "La întoarcerea de la biruinţa lui asupra sirienilor, David şi-a făcut iarăşi un nume, bătând în Valea Sării optsprezece mii de edomiţi" (2 Samuel 8,13). După toate probabilităţile, în timp ce David era angajat contra sirienilor în nord, Edomul s-a folosit de situaţie şi a invadat Iudea, din care pricină o armată a fost trimisă împotriva lui Edom sub conducerea lui Abişai, care a ucis 18.000 de edomiţi (vezi la 2 Samuel 8,12). Atât după Samuel cât şi după Cronici, incidentul acesta a avut loc în "Valea Sării". O asemenea vale era în Edom (2 Regi 14,7; 2 Cronici 25,11). 18:13 A pus oşti de strajă în Edom, şi tot Edomul a fost supus lui David. Domnul ocrotea pe David ori pe unde mergea. În Edom. "În tot Edomul" (2 Samuel 8,14). Este evident, deci, că întreaga ţară a Edomului a ajuns sub controlul lui Israel. Datorită naturii sălbatice a celei mai mari părţi a terenului, a fost nevoie de garnizoane permanente în toată ţara pentru a ţine situaţia în mână. 18:14 David a domnit peste tot Israelul, şi făcea judecată şi dreptate tot poporului său. David a domnit. Versetele 14-17 se ocupă de administraţia internă a lui David. Făcea judecată. David îndeplinea funcţia de judecător suprem al ţării (vezi la 2 Samuel 15,2-4). 18:15 Ioab, fiul Ţeruiei, era mai mare peste oştire; Iosafat, fiul lui Ahilud, era scriitor; Ţeruiei. Sora lui David (1 Cronici 2,16). Prin urmare Ioab era nepotul lui David. 18:16 Ţadoc, fiul lui Ahitub, şi Abimelec, fiul lui Abiatar, erau preoţi; Şavşa era logofăt; Ţadoc. Despre Ţadoc din linia lui Eleazar (cap. 6,4-8), vezi la 2 Samuel 8,17. Abimelec. Acesta ar trebui să fie scris Ahimelec, ca în 2 Samuel 8,17. Un anume Ahimelec este menţionat atât ca tată al lui Abiatar (1 Samuel 22,20), cât şi ca fiu al lui (1 Cronici 24,6). În altă parte, Ţadoc şi Abiatar sunt numiţi ca fiind preoţii (vezi 2 Samuel 15,29.35). Cu privire la concordanţa dintre aceste texte, vezi la 2 Samuel 8,17. 18:17 Benaia, fiul lui Iehoiada, era căpetenia Cheretiţilor şi a Peletiţilor; şi fiii lui David erau cei dintâi pe lângă împărat. Special note for ANDROID SmartPhones
I recommend to download PhoneMe emulator for Android from here.
Especially I recommend phoneME Advanced - Foundation Profile + MIDP High Resolution b168 rev20547 from here, or from here.
Then you have to build your application, to transfer the .jar and .jad files on your mobile phone and run using this nice emulator.
1. Install a Zip Utility from Android Market.
2. Install a File Manager from Android Market.
3. Download and install PhoneMe, as mentioned above.
4. Build your application by using Download Multilingual Service or Dynamic Download (zip).
5. Copy the zip file into your Android Phone and unzip the content in a folder, and then write down the path to the unzipped files and the name of the .jad file.
6. Launch PhoneMe from your smartphone.
7. Inside PhoneMe, write to the main window the path and the name to the .jad file, above mentioned. Will look something like: file:///mnt/sd/download/BiblePhone.jad and then press enter.
8. The application will be installed, and next a hyperlink will be available below the above mentioned textbox. On this way you can install as many of MIDP application you like on your Android Phone.
How to install the application in Java Mobile enabled phones
It is possible now to have the Holy Scriptures on your mobile phone and to read
it wherever you are due to the Mobile Information Device Profile (MIDP)
technology in 1.0 and 2.0 versions, developed for Java applications.
A good advice is to try in the beginning the MIDP 1.0 / 128 Kbytes version, and
progressively to advance to MIDP 2.0 and larger volumes (512 Kbytes or more).
The application is available for MIDP 2.0, MIDP 1.0. You have only to select one
table on the field MIDP2.0 or MIDP1.0, according to the desired Bible version.
Then, you shall make a click on the JAR (Java Archive) file in order to obtain
the software to be installed on your mobile phone.
I recommend you to start with STARTER(MIDP1.0old) edition, then to continue with
INTERMEDIATE(MIDP1.0), and in the end, if the mobile phone supports this thing,
to try to install the ADVANCED (MIDP2.0) edition. Also, start with 128 kbytes
volumes, continue with 512 kbytes, and at the end try the version in one file.
There are cases where the mobile phone requires so called JAD (Java Descriptor)
files. These JAD files has to be
uploaded, on this case, together with the desired JAR files(s).
There are different methods to download the applications in your mobile phone as
follows:
1. Directly from Internet by using a WAP or GPRS connection
2. By using the infrared port of the mobile phone
3. By wireless Bluetooth access to the mobile phone
4. By cable link between PC ad mobile phone
5. If none from the above cases are valid
Next, we shall examine each case in order to have a successfully installation of
the software.
1. Directly from Internet by using a WAP or GPRS connection
If your have Internet access on your mobile phone (e.g. WAP or GPRS), it is
enough to access
https://biblephone.intercer.net/wap/ from the browser of the mobile phone,
and to access the desired Bible version, and then to make an option about
MIDP1.0 or MIDP2.0, and finally to select the desired module (e.g. one or more).
After the last selection, the desired version will be downloaded on your mobile
phone.
Many phones have only this option for installing JAVA appplications.
2. By using the infrared port of the mobile phone
Sometimes there is a need for a special uploader software for specific mobile
phones.
If you don't have access to Internet directly from your mobile phone, then you
shall have to pass to this step requiring to have infrared ports on your mobile
phone and on the computer.
a. On this case, you will download the application by using the computer from
the Internet (i.e. JAR files).
b. Once the application is downloaded (preferable on the desktop) you will have
to activate the infrared port on the mobile phone and align it with the infrared
port of the computer (preferable laptop).
c. Then a window will appear asking what file you want to send to the mobile
phone. Next, you will select the downloaded JAR file, and after OK, the mobile
phone will ask you if you want to load that file. You say YES and the
application will be downloaded on your mobile phone.
d. Probably, you will be asked by the mobile phone where you want to save it (e.g.
on the games or applications directories). After you made this selection, the
file will be ready to be loaded for run.
The displaying preference can be set inside the application in order to have
larger fonts, full screen display etc.
3. By wireless Bluetooth access to the mobile phone
Sometimes there is a need for a special uploader software for specific mobile
phones.
This situation is similar with the infrared case. You have only to activate
Bluetooth access on your mobile phone (check if exists) and on the computer (check
if exists).
4. By cable link between PC ad mobile phone
Sometimes there is a need for a special uploader software for specific
mobile phones.
On this case the steps are as follows:
a. On this case, you will download the application by using the computer from
the Internet (i.e. JAR files).
b. Once the application is downloaded (preferable on the desktop) you will have
to set up the wired connection between the mobile phone and the computer. Next,
you will start the synchronization / data transfer application and download the
JAR file in your mobile phone. Surely, you will have to consult the CD of your
mobile phone.
c. By this application you shall transfer into your mobile phone the JAR file in
the games or applications directories. Next, you will have to select for run the
JAR desired file.
5. If none from the above cases are valid
On this unhappy case, I recommend you to find a friend with a laptop having
infrared / Bluetooth capabilities, or to buy a data link cable, or to change
your current model of mobile phone.
Unfortunately, some models of mobile phones require only WAP/GPRS in order to
download and run Java applications.
Sometimes there is a need for a special uploader software for specific mobile
phones. Therefore check the documentation of them and also the page for specific
models.
Why so many versions? Simple, because not all the mobile phones support the
Bible in one file with MIDP 2.0 (the most advanced for the time being).
